And so it begins...(tracking Coach Prime decommits/transfers)

Found this interesting. Colorado podcast that is disappointed in the hypocrisy coming out of Boulder, where the players leaving are crap and don't want to compete and the transfers in are great and looking for better opportunities. Also at the end talks about how everyone in Boulder, staff and media are scarred to say something against the party line and just agree with whatever Sanders says, whether it makes sense or not. There are going to be so many good stories coming out after Sanders "retires for medical reasons" after the season. The whole program is just teetering on the edge.

Would have been very refreshing if someone had come out when Frost was here and said the same thing.

Spoke with family who are big CU fans. They’re still all on the Deion bandwagon but I don’t think they follow as closely as we do on this board. I think they’re going to be in for a big letdown when we bolts after his kids go to the NFL.
I actually think Deion (in theory in his mind) wants to come back in 2025 but only in one circumstance. I think he desperately wants the team to squeak out an 8-4 this year so that the media starts another slobber session over him in DEC-APR. The media will then provide another $100m+ in free advertising for him which will allow Deion to attract better transfers in the portal. His plan doesn't work if they go 4-8 or 5-7 again. If he does that they're dead and he'll quit.

Deion's plan was always try to hit a lazy man's inside straight. Try to create enough buzz in yr 1-2 that you, by osmosis, attract top portal players they then win you games which furthers your mystique, which allows you to attract better portal players, and rinse & repeat for 5-7 yrs or until he gets bored & quits. There was a split second in game 2-3 last year where it looked like this plan may work. But I think it's impossible at this point (& not sure that it ever could work).

I'm not going to pretend to know what Nebraska runs all the time on defense but I would say they are primarily have a MOF defender...whether that's 3, rip/liz match or cover 1...I don't know.

He still calls himself a “young brother”? He must not have caught a glimpse in the mirror when he had that grey beard a few days back.

But you do have to appreciate the line “I don’t fly fish, but I am fly when I fish.”

Far be it for me to even give the appearance of defending Colorado… but I can’t take these people gloating over CU’s spring game attendance seriously when they say “Yeah, the weather was bad BUT…”

You said it. The weather was bad. It rained all day in Boulder. Nebraska’s attendance would have also been reduced in those same conditions. Getting half a crowd in the rain would be pretty standard across the country for a spring game, I’d imagine. (I’m guessing since we are us, NU’s attendance would have still been better than half.) But these writers just mention it then blow it off for what they want to be the reason. You don’t have to try that hard to mock Sanders’ program.

Are we a cover 3 heavy team?
I won’t pretend to know what Nebraska mostly runs and I know this is an apples to wagyu beef comparison. I played OL in the NAIA so know nothing about coverages, but our d ran 3-3-5 but switched to 3-4 because of how heavily dependent we were on cover 3 running 3-3-5 and then getting torched defensively by any team capable of completing 4 verticals, which were not many in the NAIA.

Nebraska does seem to be way more versatile in their alignments than we were in our base 3-3-5.
