I for some reason am irrationally angry that CU is ranked. They keep beating shitty teams and now they don’t play another game against a team with a winning record for the rest of the year. These fuckers are going to be 10-2 and the only top 50 teams they played are going to be us and K State (losses).
Right there with you. I’ve been saying for awhile that Big 12 is a joke. And they will be well represented in the bowls.

I’ve already been hearing it here in Colorado. “If we could play you guys now we would win”. How TF do you come to that conclusion? Because you guys barely beat nobodies while we lose to top ten teams? Ok then.

Amazing how much easier their schedule got this year. Utah, Okie State, Kansas and Arizona have turned into steaming piles of shit. They could go 10-2 with their best wins being Cincinnati, Texas Tech, Colorado State and North Dakota State.

Then look at our schedule and how much tougher it got with Indiana and Illinois playing at a much higher level than expected.

They have improved, more than I expected, but their schedule has gotten incredibly bad. ESPN has their Strength of Schedule at 72.

Really thought that they would be mailing it in by now.

Schedule is pretty awful, but Prime found an unexpected gem in his DC from the Bengals. That guy brought a lot of competence to that side of the football.

That line for the Texas Tech game on Nov 9th will be really interesting. The a Red Raiders are a mess, but they are a completely different animal at home. Lubbock seems like the kind of place that could derail the Buffs.

Learnings from CU this year:

1 - take a lucky play & make it a spark/catalyst for a run. Needed a hail mary to beat a bad Baylor team at home. But that W gave them confidence. They're close to being undefeated since it happened

2 - value of having game breakers and reliable go-to plays. We saw this with OSU as well on Saturday. You will have tough times. But if you have go-plays and go-to players you can break out of it. OSU beat us because they made 3 plays on offense. Sometimes that's all you need

That being said, CU would not beat Indiana, OSU or Illinois.

Just shows how unequal the conferences have become. Colorado might be a top 5 team in the Big 12, but they would be bottom 5 in the B1G.

Correct

I don't think they'd beat Rutgers or Washington TBH

Though Rutgers is reeling now

Speaking of bye weeks, it feels like even when our schedule is easier this conference still tries to screw us. This is tedious for me to research on my phone, but it appears that 4 of our 9 conference games are against teams coming off a bye week. Indianus, OSU, USC, and UCLAbia all get 2 weeks to prepare for us. Cockeye on the other hand only to play Michigan State coming off a bye.

Any substance to this or is it just bad luck? I should tally up how many opponents every team faces coming off a bye.

Also might as well mention that Colorado plays on a Thursday to open the season so they get a couple extra days of rest and prep as well.
Officially 0-4 against all the teams coming off their bye. Congrats big 10 you got exactly what you wanted. Fucking cunts.

I thought Colorado fans were crazy saying they could make the college football playoff.

Well I guess I was wrong, they have a chance.

Of course there is a chance that the Big 12 champion doesn't make the playoffs at all as well. That conference has really turned into crap. Colorado's best win might be North Dakota State.

I thought they might go 8-4 or even 9-3 vs their schedule. My rationale is that when you have an elite QB and elite WRs you can go very very far in CFB. When you have an elite QB that can paper over your team's deficiencies.

Look at it this way: how many of Nebraska's one-score losses since 2018 would have been Ws if we had a QB like Shedildo? I'm not joking when I say 100% would have been wins. Including every one score loss under Rhule.

I don't know what Nebraska's record would be if you reversed every one score loss, but I'm guessing they'd be 9-3 every yr going back to 2018. If you look at it that way, it's not hard to see how CU was going 9-3 this yr vs that terrible schedule.

Hoping Kansas can beat them next week.

I understand your reasoning. I really expected teams like Kansas, Kansas St, Oklahoma St, Utah and maybe even Arizona to run right over them, but all of those teams have severely underperformed this season.

But you have to admit their schedule looked much more difficult before the season. Not many expected Kansas, Oklahoma State and Utah to be at the bottom of the conference. Colorado could finish the season without having anyone on the schedule being ranked at the end of the year. It's closer to the MWC or AAC than the B1G. The Big 12 took a serious nose dive this season.

Colorado has shown improvement, but their improvement isn't as drastic as the drop off in the competition.

I was expecting more games like the Kansas game for Colorado this year.

Colorado can't stop the run, they just haven't played many teams that can effectively run the ball. They did do a good job shutting down UCF, that might have been the best they played this year, but Kansas and Kansas State ran all over them.

Offensively they are still a one dimensional team that can't protect the QB. They have done a better job of protecting the OL, keeping a TE in sometimes or a RB, even running it a little, but in the end they are still a one dimensional team with protection issues. Most of their effective plays are screens or playground style deep throws.

For Colorado and how bad they were, Sanders has done a good job making and keeping them relevant, but with what they lose, they are going to be bad next season, they have to replace just about everyone. I'd be shocked if Sanders stays, it will really hurt his ego with how bad they will be next season.

I hate to admit it, as I really don't like him, but She is the only reason they have an offense. The offense is built around what he does well and I don't know what they will do without him next season. On the other hand his brother Shilo is absolutely horrible on defense, he was average last year, but he is afraid of contact since he has come back from Dowdell breaking his arm, his play has been really bad. It's always tough to replace a great player like Hunter, that loss would hurt any team.

Was scrolling through a game thread on Allbuffs shitty website to complete my happy feeling over the weekend. Lots of folks on there actively hoping that Shiloh would get hurt as that appeared to be the only way to get him out of the game. Some people pissed off at Prime for letting his shittiest son stay in the game even when he was sucking out loud. Thought it was funny. Who calls for their vaunted Head Coaches own son to get his arm broke again? Fucking puffalo fans, that's who. At one point Shiloh was reviewed for targeting, and obviously they were hoping he'd get kicked out. But then they overturned the review, cementing the idea in their heads that the refs were playing for Kansas. Haha. Sad sacks. So nice that we whooped up on them.

The recent Colorado fan is the least intelligent football fans i've encountered in years.

I know a few through coaching and I've seen it on twitter with the same type of guy a hundred different times. He's a little league football coach that didn't go to college, doesn't live in CO, and is living vicariously through prime as he feels he's been passed over to coach at his old high school because of his skin color. If you coach in a metro you know this guy. If you don't go watch the bishop sycamore doc. These guys were fun to chop it up with on saturday mornings and now they're almost radicalized

It's the same type of guy who let's eight year olds concuss eachother in oklahoma drills.

Shilo was never a great Safety, but he is really playing bad this year. He's scared of contact unless it's a late hit and has racked up a lot of penalty yards. I'm not defending Colorado fans, but their defense is worse, by a lot, with Shilo on the field, he is just a detriment to the team.
