Breaking A-Mart already turning heads at KSU

I think Martinez will be remembered by Husker fans (not just message boarders that are hyper-fanatic) as a good kid who played hard.

But I also did the research earlier this year and with all the close games Nebraska glad with Martinez he did not one time go down and win a game for them. He was a decent quarterback, above average power 5 qb skill, below average power 5 qb clutch gene.

Didn’t he have shoulder surgery

He had more turnovers than completions in the final 5mins of games decided by less than a touchdown. That’s bad no matter who is coaching or who your OL is.

I don't think he ever showed the "It Factor". Some players & Coaches like Michael Jordan, Tom Osborne, Barry Switzer, John Elway, Nick Saban, Bill Belechek, Tom Brady..... just find a way to win. The combination of Frost & Martinez seemed like the exact opposite as they almost always found a way to Lose. I don't think Martinez or Frost were clutch at all at the end of games.

I member him practicin real good in Lincoln
We had heard rumors that the last couple years Martinez looked really good in practice, but just didn't look the same in games. The Psyche of Athletes is a real fickle beast. Some struggle when the weight of the world is on their shoulders with the game on the line.

There's not a QB in the history of football that would've looked good with our OL & offensive coaching staff. Clearly Frost & Friends are not and were not P5-quality coaches.
Martinez also didn’t help the line out with his awareness. A lot of Frost’s offense revolves around the qb making quick decisions and getting rid of the ball quick. He was poor at this. He isn’t a quick blinker. Also I didn’t even think he could practice yet, so how is he turning heads? Is it his off the field attitude and maturity? We heard all the same things at Nebraska how he was a good teammate which I won’t discount, but the kid isn’t a great qb. If k-state wins 6-8 games this upcoming year it won’t change my mind. We could have did similar things in the BIG if Frost wasn’t a shitty coach and fixed the little things.

A few things won’t change
1) he’s always injured
2) zone defenses are his Kryptonite
3) when needing a clutch play late, he won’t deliver

He’ll have some good moments but the above won’t change no matter whst uniform he puts on

One huge positive for him that will change: he won't be under the tutelage of Frost and Mario.
