Yard Care

Really late and I understand that, but finally got all aeration, new seed, and new fertilizer down over the weekend. Sprinklers are still on so I'm hoping to get enough water down while it's still barely warm enough to make an impact. Haven't gotten my email from the sprinkler company yet so I'm crossing fingers that I still have a few weeks left.

Feels good!

Yeesh, IDK where you are but in most areas cool-season grass seeding should've been done at least a month ago. Better be praying that frost comes late this year!

Just picked up 750 feet of pipe. Time to do the next section of fence. Just need some cattle panels

I know. The plan was to have our back patio done by a contractor about 5 weeks ago now, and it never happened. I basically paused everything I was doing for about 3 weeks because the grass on the north side of my house and some of the back yard was going to get annihilated, so that set me back obviously.

Was in the back yard over the weekend. Saw at least a dozen holes like the picture and one hole with the track.

Anyone ever try caster oil pellets in the lawn. It’s supp to repel field mice (voles) which are causing this.

Any Omaha area people ever use the Omaha compost program Oma-gro? How is it? Looking to get a shot tonight of compost this spring.
Have used, do like.

I’m not an expert but can tell you this stuff worked to feed my lawn and helped get new seed to take. I’ve tried top soil from 85 Maple or whatever their name is. It was terrible. Almost like sand. Sun Valley has good stuff,

Old yard i got it by the truck load. Put it in all of my beds as I was making them. Great stuff. Make sure it's mixed with soil or you mix it in with a tiller/shovel though. Don't just throw on top.

If you're talking about spreading it on top of grass I've never done that. Certainly won't hurt.

Eh, tilling compost in is ideal if you're starting a brand new bed, but putting it on top is alright too.
I would only do it when starting.

When you buy by the truck straight from compost place it's fresh. Can burn the plants if you just pile on top. Buying in bags doesn't matter. After initial only putting it on if planting something.
