Let’s talk airline travel: What pisses you off?

Was on the one of the first Southwest flights out of Omaha this morning where assigned seating was happening… the rage of some people stuck in the back that couldn’t choose the empty exit row seat had me VERY happy
I made the business decision that I am forever done with SW. I had the option of flying SW or Delta for a work meeting in NYC next month and will fly Delta for the first time in 15 years.

I haven’t flown anywhere in a couple of years (going to punta cana in a couple of weeks though), I’ve heard there is an epidemic of people across the country using the disabled excuse of getting to board first, who aren’t actually disabled. Is that going on in Omaha?

There were two wheelchairs on first. I had a flight coming back from Florida that looked like 50 were doing that.

Now to be fair my buddy was late in Vegas a couple years back for our flight and told TSA he broke his ankle and they put him in a wheelchair and bypassed the line. But not for the actual plane.

If you fly through Charlotte, you’ll see a bunch of folks with ‘disabilities’ board early. I fly American and either board First Class or Group 1, so I could care less.

I do get aggravated when I hear the new one in Charlotte, which is ‘Boarding anxiety’. Bite me.

Delta is solid - you just don’t get upgraded to first class like you used to unless you’re 2 million miler + diamond

If you don't live your life trying to be the last person to get on that death trap, I feel bad for you

I have two more trips in February that will put me right around 310,000 miles on American this year. I have no choice but to fly, or find something else to do.

It can be frustrating, tedious, and occasionally nerve wracking, but I’ve gotten used to it. Mostly.

Still glad when I get home.

I'm platinum pro on American, so I get upgraded about 1 out of every 3 or 4 flights. Crazy that there isn't a direct AA option from KC into LGA, JFK, or even Newark anymore. Sitting squarely at the back of the plane in group 5 or 6 boarding on Delta for that flight 🙁

Agree. That’s why I hated SW. I like to be close to last to board
You and I are the same… never flew southwest because I wanted to board last and take my seat. Or worse you have a connection where you paid for priority but you were delayed and end up getting stuck between two elephants in a middle seat.

I’m giving it a chance now as we have two companion passes due to credit cards.

A side note: The SW first class where the seat was gone in front of you in the exit row is no more on this flight I’m on.

I could be flying private and I'd try to run on right before the door shuts
I got to fly private for work a 1/2 dozen times and it was amazing.

The pilots give you their phone number and just tell you to give them a 30 minute warning when you want to take off. You walk right on, they grab your bags and you've got a drink in your hand before the door closes.

I get why billionaires fly like that.

It's funny because when you have an assigned seat and no overhead, you DGAF when you board.

I'm a perpetually late person by nature (my wife loves it), but bitch I'm at the airport 2 hours before at least (and having a cocktail by the gate) and I'm never late hahaha...but I don't rush to get on for sure.

SW was a convenient, efficient and cost effective airline that I flew regularly for business and personal travel. It started to unravel for me around 2016. I no longer find much advantage in using SW and have started avoiding it where I can.

I actually LOVED flying SW even as recent as last year. Still love their cancellation policy and use it as a backup option.

That being said, after all the changes from that a-hole group...now it's no different from any other airline and I am absolutely not seeking it out.

Southwest used to easily be the best and I think most people recognized it. Especially for families. Think it was an incredibly poor business decision to start charging for bags and not being able to pick your seats.

I've flown AA the last couple times and they have been HORRIBLE. Delays, cancelled flights, rebookings. I've lost a total of about 14 hours of my life my last couple flights.
