This is one of the reps about Rhule that we heard about at hiring time that has definitely proved to be true 3 yrs later.I think Rhule is hard on his coaches, I think that's why White/Porkchop left, ERob didn't want back, and I think that's why Eck may leave.
I doubt this is strictly related to Nebraska not wanting to pay to keep him.
are you a boomer? Do you believe that “nah we good” is slang for “pack your shit and go”?
Programs a joke with their 2 charity cases in Foley and Satterfield
Previously with CBS Sports, now has his own national media deal. Rhule contact from his time in Philly. Was on his House Rhules podcastWhomst da fuck is a Zach Gelb

Rhule confirms here that we are TRYING to retain Ek.
The speculations about "nebraska pushing him out" or whatever were predictably retarded.
Uh yes, duh.....Try harder he was the only competent coordinator last year.
Rhule literally just said he made an offer to make Ek the 2nd highest paid assistant. How in the fuck is that "letting him leave".You don’t let this guy leave because you have some unproven interns who watched him coach last year that “could step in”
"Nah we're good(from nebraska)" clearly implies that you believe nebraska made some choice to the effect of we don't want/need to retain Coach Eckler. There's no evidence to suggest that, in fact from Rhule's own mouth he just said they tried to make him the second highest paid ST coach in the country. Please correct me if im wrong........ but im not.are you a boomer? Do you believe that “nah we good” is slang for “pack your shit and go”?
Also, for future reference, the “elite (used here very loosely) member” badge entitles you to read bomb shelter threads that may provide useful info before you have a hissy fit over “the USC equivalent of RSS” rumors.
Josh Martin was the STC at SMU, Brett Maher had a long NFL career as a specialistYou don’t let this guy leave because you have some unproven interns who watched him coach last year that “could step in”
Brett Maher can coach the Kickers fine. He’s not a special teams coach tho. Martins been a ST analyst for 3 years obviously a huge downgrade from EK. My intern comment wasn’t to be taking literally.Josh Martin was the STC at SMU, Brett Maher had a long NFL career as a specialist
making someone the 1st or 2nd highest paid coordinator and he says no thanks and takes a lateral move is a horrible look as well.Uh yes, duh.....

You must not remember the short lived tenure of Bob Wager as TE coach.Which time.
The first hs coach Rhule hired to caoch TEs just lost in the first round of the playoff....... Pretty damn good hit id say.

USC recently interviewed Gary Patterson for DC after striking out with PK.There are some allusions made in that video to Ekeler's role wanting to be expanded, and it didn't.
Now - the USC part that could make some more sense is that, while they are linked to some WAY bigger DC names than Ek, could a Co-DC tag come with it to lure him away?
I'd have to think that he'd realize that he is a P2 STC and D position coach, not a DC.
He should get the Assistant/Associate Head Coach title. That could put him in the 800-1m range. Which is about the market rate for a top 5 STCThere are some allusions made in that video to Ekeler's role wanting to be expanded, and it didn't.
