Let’s talk airline travel: What pisses you off?

Hey, anyone been following the Air India plane crashes? RIP to everyone involved, the fact that there was a sole surviour is crazy. Worst aviation accident in over a decade.
I watched a video yesterday from a pilot that examines plane crash footage. His conclusion was the co-pilot raised the flaps instead of the landing gear and the drag from the landing gear and little lift with the flaps being up caused the plane to stall and crash.

Could be the flaps along with the hot weather. Sole survivor said he heard a large bang. Dual engine birdstrike??

Pilot and co-pilot must not have been communicating well.

I fly every week, so really love it when planes crash.

Thankfully it doesn't happen often.

If the shittiest things that happen to me are what happened my last two trips to Dulles (boarded and sat on the tarmac for two hours before returning to the gate to deplane. Twice), I'll be fine.

That’s only bearable in first class

It's funny as I was thinking the same thing. I was the flight behind the plane that had the bomb threat coming out of PIE a month or two ago, and all I wanted to do was get off that thing as it was Allegiant. However, if I was getting hammered in first class on Delta I could have stayed there for hours.

It would have been if the stewardess could get out of her seat. The pilot made her sit through most of the two hours and she wouldn't serve anything but water the rare times she got up.

Lots of fun.
Who’d you fly? Delta and AA have both been good to me when this happens. Happened about 3 weeks ago on AA and the FA wouldn’t even let me see the bottom of my glass.

I've found there is a direct correlation to time on tarmac and the size of my buzz as I sit in first class during these situations.

American almost exclusively because of my location.

I’ve had both experiences. One that’s like an extended Happy Hour and another that was not.

It’s been my experience that all that changes a lot depending on the size of the aircraft, time to board the entire plane, etc.

Larger aircraft, I don’t know if I can remember the last time I didn’t have at least the option of a pre-take off drink. The smaller ones, I’d say CRJ 900 and below, it’s usually ‘What would you like once we’re in the air?’ Also depends on the quality of the in flight team, which seems to vary greatly.

Agreed. The little regionals are horrible to be stuck on.

This is why I could never be a pilot. I learn from mistake.

And that fucker isn't coming back from his mistake.
