Outdoors thread

Yeah, I'm not sure about the unit I hunt but it's not something I have any interest in. You can eat them in the spring but they generally don't taste as good as black bear. We actually have a slingshot in the stand to scare away brown bears that are feeding on our bait station.
I didn't realize you ate either. What would you compare black bear meat to?

I can shoot a black bear from my bedroom window. He would probably taste like garbage though. ☠️

@BushAK how concerned are you about trichinosis when eating bear meat? Any bear meat I've eaten has always been ground so it's been cooked well done.

Potentially getting a multi-year parasite from bear meat has caused me to pass on quite a few bear hunts.
I’m not that concerned. The few times I’ve had roasts they’ve come out of a crockpot pot.

I recommend still doing the hunt, but giving the bear to the locals. When I lived in AK, my company did a number of hunts and that is what we did. Took home all of the fish, but gave the bear, sheep and caribou to the people in the town.

They are nice. I have the plug in one. Just bought the battery Bubba one.
My Brothers fillet a ton of fish and their complaint with the bubba is that it’s too bulky and they’ve switched to the battery rapala and love it. Dad and I just got cordless rapala and have zero complaints.
You’ll have to let us know what you think of the bubba.

Love the rapala corded one other than the cord. Hopefully will be using the shit out of the Buɓba next week so will let you know.
