I asked ChatGPT to give me a comprehensive 10 year learning plan to learn golf and this is my year 1

Year 1: Foundations of Golf

Goals: Learn basic rules, grip, stance, swing fundamentals, and short game.

1. Books to Read:

  • Ben Hogan’s Five Lessons: The Modern Fundamentals of Golf – Ben Hogan
  • Harvey Penick’s Little Red Book: Lessons and Teachings from a Lifetime in Golf – Harvey Penick
  • Golf is Not a Game of Perfect – Dr. Bob Rotella

2. Training Courses & Videos:

  • Me and My Golf - "Complete Guide to Golf" (YouTube & Website)
  • Golf Digest Schools (Online Courses)
  • Skillest App (Get a coach to analyze your swing)

3. Practice Routine:

  • Driving Range: 3 days per week (Focus on grip, stance, and swing basics).
  • Short Game: 2 days per week (Chipping, putting, bunker play).

From what this weeks Grow Omaha report…

At this week’s Gretna City Council meeting, the owner of Omaha-based Woodsonia Real Estate revealed new plans to build a blockbuster project on just part of the overall district.

Woodsonia would team up with a Kansas City-based developer that has ties to the Sporting KC Major League Soccer team. Their plan encompasses 700 acres within the district. The most imminent portion includes a $400 million retail center anchored by Look’s Marketplace and a Wally’s gas station on an undeveloped parcel northwest of Interstate 80 & Highway 31.

To the north of Nebraska Crossing, Woodsonia’s plan shows a $125 million, 15,000-seat outdoor amphitheater (something akin to a Live Nation venue), a Jack Nicklaus-designed golf course, a huge multisport facility known as The St. James and a JW Marriott Hotel.

🙄 Who knows if any of this will actually happen
developing a project with a Nicklaus course is a sure sign they don't know wtf they are doing. it means over paying for a mediocre course, but if they pay extra they might get Jack to set foot on the property one time to give it final approval (not sure that's even an option now given his health)

Also, why would Marriott want to put a JW there? Would be a strange move to put the nicest Marriott property in the state by the outlet mall in Gretna.

If this is the same project then they reached out to Gil Hanse last fall. Obviously that fell through or their thinking changed.

Didn’t some of that fall through because of tax stuff? I thought all of that and the volleyball stuff was basically not gonna happen.

Man sounds like you are describing Deer Creek.

Kind of sounds like a real life @ClubProGuy situation.

Has anyone asked about game improvement irons in this thread yet?

I've been playing with Nike ignite 2's for at least a decade now bought them from a friend right after high school. But finally starting to making improvements in my golf game the last few years

I played the T300 as a set of rentals in Dubai. Actually not too bad and got really good distance out of them. I usually play more of a blade (Mizuno MP-20's) but now that I don't play as much those felt pretty decent. I'd also look into the TM M6's or something similar. My buddy I play with has those and they feel pretty damn nice as well.

Have you looked at the Pings or Mizunos? BIL just got fit for some of the new Mizuno JPX Hot Metals and said he really likes them.

The simulator facility I am a member at is all Callaway so I can try all their new stuff whenever I want and I’m not a fan of any of their irons. They are super light and I hit them 15-20 yards further than my old mizuno blades but spin, flight, and distance control are lacking and the feel is really terrible. Haven’t tried the titleist but I always liked their MB series.
