I will say this...it's crazy how unique each kid is...and they do bring me joy in all different ways. My oldest daughter is the typical eldest child. Strong willed, a leader, she's a great kid. My second is a little sweetheart with a great heart. My third daughter is a fucking hellion. But she is a daddy's girl. Ornery as can be and funny as hell. And my son is a sports loving machine...who just discovered he has nuts...and likes to tell everyone he has nuts and points to his crotch....

My son loves telling my wife that boys have a penis and she doesn’t have one and then laughs mocking her for no penis.

God damn I love him, he totally gets it

Nursing wives are angels. Mine did for both. Only sad part is their tiddys are just never the same.

The one thing I wish I would have done, and regret to an extent, is I just didn't really really soak up enough baby time. I admittedly wasn't quite ready to constantly have a baby on my hip, when she wasn't on my wife's hip, so I very much looked forward to jumping to the crawling and walking stages. She turns 2 in a few weeks. While it's been incredible to see her grow and mature, I wish I would have enjoyed the baby stages a lot more. I constantly look back at those photos and wonder how it went so fast.

just wasnt working. my wife took 4 weeks & 6 weeks off with the kids, i took 2 days. theyre fed, theyre healthy.

My wife is currently trying to talk me into putting our 2 girls (2 and 4 years old) into bunk beds in the same room. They both currently sleep great, and IDK why we would disturb that...

But for OP purposes - she tells me that there is data that kids can actually sleep better in the same room instead of split?

Also - when our 2 year old (now the 4 year old) had a bad sleep regression and would come out of her room a lot, we would go through this cycle:

1. Put her down with normal routine
2. go in right away after we leave
3. Go in after 1 minute
4. Go in after 3 minutes

etc... until they are asleep. The reassurance we were there made her sleep better. Worked for us - doesn't work for everyone.

We had all 3 of our girls in one room at once. Wasn't a big deal most of the time. They loved their triple bunk. Built by yours truly....

Our oldest now sleeps in a separate room...I've found her asleep on the couch multiple times compared to none when they slept together. So I'd say from personal experience, there is probably some truth behind that data.

Also generic advice, think about a time when someone trolled you on the internet to the point where you were shaking with rage while sitting on the toilet shitting.

Doesn’t get much better than the wife and I out back with my mobile smart TV on the shed, watching the Masters with my daughter on my lap blowing bubbles and the dogs laying in the freshly cut grass with beautiful weather and the windows open
