Wisconsin is favored in 11 games this year

No. I don't think their former offense was as different personnel wise. Partially because its easier to get missing personnel with the portal.
I guess I don't know enough to know either way. It appears on the outside that it would take different olinemen to run it compared to what they did before. Maybe @slattimer could help us out a little bit from what he's thinking.

Fick is a good coach, not great. He jumped out of Cincy bc they would've been exposed in big 12. No fucking way Wisconsin wins double digit games this year
#2ndChoice is a top notch developer. Hell he put 9 players in the draft a couple years ago at Cincy of all places.

Usually a defensive coach will dictate certain things the OC does from a game management aspect. It will be interesting to see how Rhule does compared to #2ndChoice since we could have also had #2ndChoice.
I find it interesting as well. Bill Bush said on the radio that Luke #2ndChoice was one of the best coaches he's ever been around, but Bush is also very high on what he thinks Rhule can do this year.

I think both are very good coaches. Like it or not Rhule will always be compared to #2ndChoice since they are both taking over new programs the same year and we had our pick from both. Rhule could do some good things here, but if #2ndChoice kills it at Wisconsin it’s going to suck as a Husker fan.

As long as Rhule can turn this place around to at least winning 9 games again, I think it would be hard to complain about hiring him. Turd needed a guy with proven track record of turning around dumpster fires, that guy was Rhule. #2ndChoice's job at Cincinnati was impressive as far as taking them to the playoffs, but you can't say he took over a dumpster fire.

It will still be a punch to the dick if #2ndChoice is killing it because we could have had him.

The good and bad news is I don't know if either coach will continue coaching at both locations for 15 years. It seems like the days of long term coaching hires may be coming to an end. Maybe it can come back if they change some of the recruiting/transfer rules to make the job less stressful again.

If Rhule starts winning then we'll have no trouble out recruiting Wiscy and outclassing them on the field. What Rhule has done so far on the trail is impressive
I like Rhule’s energy recruiting wise, but we have to see how his class plays out on the field. I remember everyone thinking Frost killed his early classes too. Rhule does seem like a developer unlike Frost, so we have that going for us. I guess we will know in 2-3 years.

I don't have the exact numbers and I'm far too lazy to look it up, but I'm guessing Frost did something similar at UCF

Cincinnati, UCF, Houston, etc are programs that are set up to succeed in their lower-level conferences due to their ability to out talent their opponents. that doesn't always transfer over to the next program

I believe his name is Collin and he works at the same place as Brett McMurphy
Well fuck this Collin fella and the horse he fuckin rode in on. And fuck Wisconsin. And while we are at it, fuck Cockeye...and Minnesota too. Fucking row your boat bullshit. I mean seriously. Jesus H Christ that’s fucking stupid.

1 in 2017
4 in 2018

#2ndChoice had 1 each year from 2017-2020 then 4 in 2021 and 9 in 2022.

So similar up until 2022.

Agree on the second part although the Big 12 isn't exactly a gauntlet of power teams without OU and Texas.

I mean, I would just go watch Cincinnati during their playoff run and go watch Frost's best UCF team. One team looked like a well rounded and well coached team while the other team got by scoring a ton of points with a QB that created after plays broke down.

I think a lot of people are probably focusing too much on their offensive transition. They will be starting eight 5th or 6th year players on their defense. And while they will be changing things up defensively, they will still be running the 3-4. That team already has Nose Tackles on the roster. They already have big and physical Defensive Ends who can hold the edge. And their linebackers are all Physical Big Ten Veterans who can really run at the 2nd level.

On a side note, can anyone explain to me why Wisconsin has a dozen linebackers every season who are roughly 6'3 245 lbs with excellent speed and pursuit skills? Meanwhile, Nebraska consistently has to trot undersized walk ons out there at the 2nd level?
