Who is the most overrated player in Nebraska Football History?

So many that piss me off so I'll just stick with the recent coaches:

-Damian Jackson. Because whenever people said he could play, and I brought up if he did we'd be in trouble since he's never played football before, they responded with "his Navy Seal training is tougher than anything he will encounter on the football field" and it really bothered me.

-Pretty much any recruit that Frost or Rhule brought in due to their track speed that we celebrated

-Wynden Ho'Ohuli and Mauga-Clements

-Tyreke Johnson as a five star transfer from Ohio State

-Almost all our JUCO guys Held saved Frost's ass on in December when we were short about 7 players to our signing class like Omar Manning,

-Noa Pola-Gates

-Vaha Vainuku who Gas Can told me had a chance to start for us, even though he didn't even play at Utah and we had no idea what position he'd play, and Frost only brought him in to start a poly pipeline

Track speed is irrelevant to football speed. Lots of track guys run scared on the field. I see it all the time but coaches seem to be blind to it. And yall need to stay away from UGA transfers. We’re sending out recruiting service misses. We retain 95% of the ball players.

Justin Fields sucks. The only reason he gets to hang around the NFL is skin color. Glad he left UGA.

You’re proving my point. We don’t need over rated High School Wonder boys to win. Like I said look at the trophy case while you’re at the Pin Stripe Bowl.

Is it weird that the SEC is now on a level playing-field with other conferences because its legal for any program to do what used to be handed out in duffle bags in the SEC?

I agree. Believe me, we still have more duffle bags.

If your implying dirty pool should I remind you of Lawrence “Woman Beater” Phillips?
The real story is she was falling down the stairs and he tried to catch her. The only thing he could grab was hair. His momentum catching her made her face bump into the wall. Luckily Frost was there to catch her. They all hugged at the end.

Good examples.

I think Jackson was a nice story and useful distraction from how bad the program was. It was pretty absurd to equate Navy Seal training to football skills but it was sacrilege to point that out.

Johnson is a great example of how people think that being a 5 star is still relevant multiple years after HS. Have they proven they can play at the CFB level? Can they hold it together to be a team member or flake out like Arik Gilbert? Many of these guys hit the transfer portal for a reason and that reason isn't always because they want a bigger payout, but because they aren't viable starters.

Awesome! I knew it was just a media smear. You know, the man holding him down and such.

LP did everything full-speed...except driving. He left the vehicular homicides to Georgia players and staffers.

Yeah and those punks he tried running over definitely deserved it !

Yep, hate referring to a transfer as a 4 star etc., after a season their HS ranking is meaningless and what they have done in college is what matters.

There's some arrogance with all football coaches that they think they can make anyone a player if they have the tools. Just not the case.

I didn't mind MJ Sherman. He turned out pretty nice for us. But at your level I get what you are saying.

Good point on Jackson. And that guy was a helluva person, so I don't want to discredit that. Just was funny.

I always tell people it's better to get the guy that starred at FCS than the guy we are convincing ourselves is good from Alabama, USC, Ohio State, or Georgia and was "just in a loaded position group"

Trey Palmer says hello

Anybody who thought Tyreke was going to even play for Nebraska after 3 years of not even moving past 3rd string at Ohio State was living in a fantasy world.
I'd agree. But then it happened with Markese Stepp, Stephon Wynn, Chubba Purdy... so many times.

I just think playing time is the best indicator, especially once you've been in college a couple years.

Yep, you're exactly right as an example of what I'm talking about. We will all day long take a guy that started multiple games for an SEC team and had multiple touchdowns that year. You can see the production from him, which makes him a take. The fact his coach brought him along with him after that just solidifies it.

Another great example.
