How do you call grounding with it hitting the defender though. If the ball makes it past the line of scrimmage it isn't grounding.

In the pocket, nobody from his team near, that’s grounding. He clearly was just trying to avoid a safety. Had they not faked up the original calls, it absolutely was getting called a safety

Hard to judge a qb when their receivers are typically 10× better than the DB's they're playing against. I don't think he's playing bad. He's had 2 or 3 big drops.

A lot of his big plays have been short passes and let the receivers make a play. Bama needs a new receivers coach who can recruit. They can’t keep hoping transfers pan out.

I guess he took 1 step to his left and got flung that direction.. but We’ve seen it called significantly more strict than that. Literally every call made on that play in real time only benefitted Bama. Thankfully they at minimum got it partially correct
