It's a different ballgame for Turd now, but he had a long term vision for UNO and executed it which seems like a positive indicator for him being successful.

I'm not saying it's a great hire or all sunshine because that will be determined in the future.

I hope he doesn’t have to make any tough decisions in his new role. I want the extent of his decisions to be “What’s our stretch goal for fundraising for a south stadium renovation?” or “We broke even in baseball last year. How do we profit and what do we need in order to do that?”

I think Alberts could be a good hire. I did know him, although not well, but that was many years ago.

I think he will play the long game to execute his plan/vision for NU. He has cache and probably backing, seems to be solid on the business side of things. Overall, I think this is a good hire, but as always time will be the ultimate barometer.

It tells me that not many people had a feel for when this search was going to come to an end.

Obviously, in a perfect world, you want your head football coach there. But also, why would you schedule an announcement when he’s on vacation or not tell him you’d like him to plan to be here one day if you had an idea you’d be doing this? Could a Turd Alberts announcement not have been made a week or two ago or waited another week?

Looks to me like we made this decision either late last week or early this week.
