Travel advice: Ever been to Bangkok?

Been to Pattaya before for like a night. Was there on our last day of Thailand with my Army unit. 5 star resorts (cheap compared to anywhere else), tattoos, hookers, Cuban cigars, and liquor.

Has anyone who went ever went to the ping pong ball shows? Craziest thing I’ve ever seen. Women shooting live fish & birds out of their pussies & the birds just start flying around, they shot the fish straight into a bowl of water & they started swimming around 😂
So, while we're on the this topic, is there any truth to there being certain "Donkey Shows" in Tijuana? Has anyone on the board seen/participated?

Bangkok is arguably the most cosmopolitan city in the world. Any kind of Asian food is available but they also have very high end Western restaurants. Several years ago we were there on Bastille Day, July14th which functions as France's 4th of July Independence Day, and my wife who grew up as a little French girl wanted French food. I asked the concierge if there were any French restaurants in Bangkok and within 10 minutes he had a list of 5 within 3 blocks of our hotel, all of whom had a special holiday menu.

It also has the largest variety of fast food anywhere in Asia. McDonald's, Burger King, KFC, Pizza Hut and even Krispy Kreme Donuts. There's also a 7-11 on virtually every corner it seems, and they're like Japan in that they have a huge variety of food, drinks even prescription drugs you don't need a prescription for.

Downside is the traffic is the worst I've ever seen and I live in L.A.. The heat is no joke either.

We refuse to give one penny to that country as long as they have their current government. My wife is Vietnamese and her family lost everything when the country fell.

I spent 26 months in-country from 1969-1971 in the Mekong Delta as an Intelligence Advisor. I was there again in 1974 during the cease fire and that's the last time I was there. I've no desire to return.

The Thai people are what really keeps us returning to Thailand.

That’s a 50+ year grudge you’re holding. You should try to return. Vietnam’s a beautiful country. Great people, too; they’ve moved on, and could be it’s time for you to move on.
