Or maybe he’s overly ambitious and desperately looking for the job to catapult him. This will be whites 4th dc job in 7 years or so.
At this point he’s a dc job jumper.
Guessing he doesn’t have high ambition for a HC role

He was still a solid DC for us. Even Georgia got burned on defense a few times this year with the genius Kirby and the best talent in the country.IIRC Tony White was the 11th highest paid DC in the country last year. Is 56-7 against Indianus good ROI on that?
Is Benhart a REAL loss though? b/c my god his blocking is atrocious at the most inconvenient time not to mention his untimely penaltiesI don't understand how this is a bad look for Rhule? He knows what he's doing. Sure Tony's defense kept us in close games but where were they for the Illinois game? Has TW ever help an RPO to a less than 4 yard gain at Nebraska?
No point in melting down over this. Secure Holgerson moving forward and field a top 35 Defense and this is a 10 win team with 1 or 2 impact transfers.
Personally I think losing Benhart/Ty/John Bullock are bigger losses than losing TW/TKnight
Longest tenured Husker ever....He most definitely came with ups and downs but it's going to be very hard to replace that amount of experience. Hopefully Turner can play RT next year and finally live up to his recruiting hype.Is Benhart a REAL loss though? b/c my god his blocking is atrocious at the most inconvenient time not to mention his untimely penalties
Fisrt thing that pops up in the GIF finder when you type in "comical psycho"...I believe itOur fans are comical. Psychos
That seems more like it to meOr maybe he’s overly ambitious and desperately looking for the job to catapult him.
There is not, but I think he was good at bringing in good players. Is there a difference in CFB?
I'll give you that he's the longest tenured...and most experienced but stand by my statement that he's not a great RT but more serviceable and does commit untimely penalties. I'd rather replace talent AND experience.Longest tenured Husker ever....He most definitely came with ups and downs but it's going to be very hard to replace that amount of experience. I just don’t see anyone on the roster that is ready for that jump. Prochazka should retire. Honestly, TC can be done. That dude is broken and should retire from the foosball
Jumping to a team that can’t afford to fire its head coach so they double down and try to spend even more to make it better doesn’t seem like the best move. That seems more like it to me
If he does a good job with the D maybe FSU gives him the HC job he’s been pushing for.Jumping to a team that can’t afford to fire its head coach so they double down and try to spend even more to make it better doesn’t seem like the best move.
They even just bailed out UCF from having to fire Malzan.
You don’t think that it’s somewhat of a reflection on the program and next year’s roster that coaches appear to be leaving for lateral-ish jobs?I don't understand how this is a bad look for Rhule? I don't. We all knew for weeks that Tony White was going to leave and it sounds like he wants to be where his family is. I also don't find it alarming when a defensive minded coach clashes with his DC when his DC is operating the defense different to what the HC wants. You don’t think that it’s somewhat of a reflection on the program and next year’s roster that coaches appear to be leaving for lateral-ish jobs?
If Rhule is clashing with white over the defense and it’s not the defense he wants then he’s retarded for hiring whiteI don't. I think this was a mutual parting of ways and doesn't create a bad look on Rhule.

Unless the desire for the change is due to a large philosophical change on offense...If Rhule is clashing with white over the defense and it’s not the defense he wants then he’s retarded for hiring white
I don’t really think whites defense is exotic.Unless the desire for the change is due to a large philosophical change on offense...
People are allowed to shift a plan. Modern/exotic Offense doesn't always mesh well with a modern/exotic defense.
I believe we are flipping the "exotic" side of the ball, and going more traditional on the defensive side. It doesn't have to be anything more than that.
