Breaking This is really bad

I was on board with the “we are close” narrative when we were barely losing to top ten teams, but this is really bad. I expected a 2 TD win against Minnesota today. I wasn’t able to watch so maybe I’m overreacting, but I’m not sure Frost survives now. He’s had enough time to be able to beat fuckin Minnesota. Thoughts?
I don’t understand how it’s even on the table that he survives.

Yet one more year of multiple inexcusable loses. Say they even finish decent. You’d still be able to look back and say “damn what could it of been had we beat Illinois and Minnesota?” We’ve been saying similar things for 3 years now and it’s the exact. same. issues.

"Adrian, there's 5 minutes left. If we score a touchdown here, we will probably win. Don't do any retard shit."

"Okay coach."

*does retard shit*

I'm always going to wonder what would have happened if Frost hadn't tied his wagon to Martinez
Thats the most frustrating thing about all this though. Who tf would Frost have gone with otherwise? Vedral would have been probably the top option, and he's not winning any games either.

His entire legacy was tied to a QB who honestly isn’t that good.

People lose their mind with the athleticism but I’d take so many recent former QBs over him in this offense.

ex: Tommy Armstrong would be 7-0 with this team cuz the offense would work with him at QB

The we are close crowd can’t deny the fact we will be cellar dwellers in the west for another year. Moral victories don’t matter at the end of the day.

I’m not saying Gebbia is better than Martinez, but he probably coulda beaten Troy that first year if he’d had a decent backup by virtue of giving Gebbia the nod for a game or two so he couldn’t transfer away vs throwing a true freshman in and assuming the Redahirt Freshman was going to agree to ride the bench….

your last sentence was certainly not the sentiment of this board as of 24 hours ago….

I’ve been hard on Frost but was willing to see how the rest of the season played out, but we now know we will win 3-4 games. That’s unacceptable any year at Nebraska and it’s his fourth year of this shit.

I’ve always wondered how much differently things would have been if Frost had started Gebbia

I would 100% take Tommy "Yolo bomb" Armstrong. I'd take Jamal Lord too.

Yeah I feel like every year with Frost, people find something to cling to for hope and a feeling like we are about to turn the corner - eg, his first year near miss with Ohio State, last year’s decisive win against Rutgers where the offense looked good, this year the losses against Michigan, OU - when the reality is he’s a sub .500 coach over 4 years and we should be way past that

me too - I don’t think he’s as physically talented, but put a fast blinker in this offense who makes good decisions - who knows what would have happened?

AM can’t read a defense which is suboptimal for a QB

I would have been fine firing Frost after the covid year but I knew it wasn’t happening for various reasons.

I agree but you're still talking about 1 or 2 games difference year 1. He probably would have transferred in the offseason after he got hurt and Martinez has the same 2nd half season. Gebbia has been consistently hurt in an offense that doesn't run the QB.

can you imagine Armstrong throwing 10 YOLObombs per game to Betts, Manning and Toure? you can't tell me that wouldn't be far better than what AM gives this team

Turd has to start putting feelers out now to Guage the interest. First feeler should go out to #2ndChoice in my opinion.

I believe that the transfer portal has slightly negated the whole "recruiting is going to fall of a cliff" thing. This was going to be a small class any way, so if you were going to have a year where you could afford to not have a great class, it would be this one, but with good use of the portal, you could fill those holes quickly.
