Tennessee QB holding out for more $$$

Glad he's gone then.

He wasn't good enough to pull that shit. Or he didn't give 100% effort due to it.

Either way, peace.

He might have been good enough, but the current structure of NIL allows kids to make ridiculous demands. If I am a free agent that signs with an NFL team, I am taking that contract in the offseason, cashing my signing bonus, and then there are no negotiations or restructuring requests occurring during the season.

But what occurs in College Football when there are no rules? What does that do to a kid's motivation?

In modern college football, a player can suddenly excel and then he has the leverage to demand more money. That's where NIL, the transfer portal, and NIL has failed the sport. The kid can just stop playing, mid season, and say, "I want more money. I'm sitting out."

There needs to be 1 year or multi year contracts put in place. Let's think about this from a Nebraska perspective:

What if Dylan goes off for 3,000+ 25td+, and less than 10 picks next season? I bet Nebraska wins 10+ games in that scenario. Should Raiola just stop trying to be the highest paid college QB in the sport? No way. What happens if teams are tossing out 8 figure numbers to him during or after Spring?

We all know that's going to happen.

Lastly, I feel like we are on the verge of reaching a point where marginal young kids are actually halting their own development because of pay days.

And who would fault them? If my children were 19 and had the chance to earn 2 million instead of 400k, I'm supporting my kids 100%.

I don’t fault people but once you game out the system as it is right now this type of bullshit will be very, very common.

And that’s not good for anyone,
