šŸ˜ isnā€™t this kind of info classified?

Do you know where Highland ,KS is? Played JUCO baseball there. Very, very small town about 2 hours south of Omaha
My brother was just in a coyote calling contest last weekend where highland was the check-in location. Not far from us at all

Didn't appreciate that place enough when I was there. Was very focused on baseball and didn't have enough fun. Would certainly change some things if I had a time machine

a fellow Alum????

since I graduated I have only once ever met another FCHS grad (he is a Dentist in Manhattan KS)

shoot man roughly what years did you go?

I graduated in the late 00s, first football team to beat Auburn in like 20+ years

Yes I am

I canā€™t think of who went on to be a dentist down there. May have been after my time.

I was an early 00s grad.

My football team sucked bad. Only 4 seniors on the team and we were class B then.

My brotherā€™s team, late 90s, beat Auburn like 12-7. He came into the game as a junior to QB over their starter and led them to a victory over the Kelsey bros.
Some well known Omaha sports writer wrote a few years back that it was questionably the best Nebraska high school football game in modern history.

Not me, but one of my favorite need fight stories from college. This kid who was a high school band geek, didnā€™t play a single sport, always got picked on by the jocks. He somehow gets accept to the Air Force academy. Comes home during one of the breaks and goes to a house party. The old center from the football team back in HS (of course he never left now and still wears his letter jacket around) starts in on band geek and heā€™s had enough after years of build up. He kicks the ever loving fuck out of football guy. It was glorious.
A high school buddy of mine was below average sizewise and had a smart mouth. Funny guy but his mouth got him in trouble all the time, especially from dumb guys who didn't understand his humor. He got in his fair share of fights in JR high and his first couple years in high school, generally getting his ass kicked. He didn't like to fight.

In high school he started taking Teakwondo. He picked it up quickly and got pretty good at it. Amazingly after he started taking that he never got into another fight. He developed a confidence about him that made people think twice about messing with him.

His JR year at Nebraska some football player was being a douche at his friends party. Walked up to the keg and grabbed the tapper handle out of a girls hand to fill his cup. My buddy saw it and grabbed it from him giving it back to the girl so she could finish filling up her cup. The Husker football player was a Defensive end for us and a big ole boy. My buddy at the time probably weighed all of 170. He told him he could wait his turn and the football player started screaming at him. Said to my buddy "you are lucky I know the guy throwing this party or I would kick your ass right here. Let's go outside so I can kick your ass". Buddy calmly replied "We can go outside but I'm not sure you will be able to kick my ass". Football player stormed off finding the guy throwing the party and told him he was gonna kick my buddy's ass, to which the guy throwing the party replied "Good Luck with that, you'll probably just end up getting your ass kicked". No fight and if this was a movie my buddy would have left with the girl, but unfortunately he had Zero game with the ladies.

oh no this Dentist is way older than us his last name is Brot or something, he grew up in that big fancy house across the street from One Stop Cafe and the dentist James office

Yeah we really lucked out finally getting moved down to C1 for football. Can't believe FC was Class B in football, I remember hearing Beatrice had 120 guys out for football 1 year and at FCHS we had 130 guys TOTAL in the high school. Thank God we didn't have to get murdered by them.

I think I've watched that Auburn v FC game, Coach Rech put it on a TV for us in team sports class and let us watch it in period long installments for the entire week. Damn I miss how easy school was

Not a bar fright but a town fight. Me and my friends at the time were back in our hometown from college. One of my friends gets invited to one of the surrounding small towns 4th of July celebrations by a girl he had met somewhere (some details are a little fuzzy because this was a while ago and of course alcohol was involved). So, we decide to go me and my 2 friends and a friend of theirs from high school. Their friend was on leave from the Navy and when he went back, he was supposedly going to try to go into the SEALs. So, we get to town meet up with said girl and her friends everything is going fine having fun chatting up the girl etc. This is where things started to go downhill as we are talking with the girls, the girl that invited my friends big brother shows up with his friends. Unbeknownst to me at least is the brother is the town badass and they are from the family in town you don't mess with apparently. So, Big Bro isn't really happy about little sister talking to some guys from outside their small town. So, words were exchanged of course and let's be honest I'm not a fighter I was the quiet funny guy of the group, and I was like let's just go but Big Bro wasn't having it. Big Bro wanted to fight someone so somehow Navy Guy (who was a really nice quiet guy from a really good family) gets picked to fight Big Bro (as I said some details are sketchy at this point). So, by now this whole ruckus has caught the attention of the locals and we are literally in the middle of this small-town towns square when crowd parts and starts to form a half circle around Big Bro and Navy Guy. Big Bro is big strong farm/ranch kid, Navy guy is a tall lanky kid, so I was like this is going to be over quick. They trade a few blows everything is going good but apparently Navy Guy must have learned a thing or two since he left for the Navy because he comes off his feet, spins a little bit, and throws a downward punch right into Big Bros jaw. Big Bro goes to the ground like Glass Jaw Joe and is laying there all groggy. The crowd stood there for a moment in a stunned silence, but it didn't last long, and you could see the crowd was starting to get agitated. We went and grabbed Navy Guy and started to get the hell out of there. After that I just remember running as fast as we could down alleys, jumping over fences to get to my friend's car with this crowd of pissed off locals after us. We made it to my friend's car and started out of town with the locals chasing us in their pickups I thought to myself if we make it to the interstate, we should be good but nope these crazy bastards were still chasing us down the interstate going about 100 miles an hour. Luckly my friend had a newer model Mustang, and we finally were able to put some distance between us, but they were still basically behind us all the way back to our hometown when they finally turned around and went back.

As a former insurance agent I knew liability was exactly where this was going. I just wanted more out of the story. Thanks for sharing it. Pretty fun hearing all the stupid shit people do!
Liability was part of it but bottom line is bars that are Slaughter Houses don't make money. Girls want to feel safe and doormen escalating fights just makes it worse. I worked at the place before I bought it and we had 3 meathead doormen from Chicago. They loved breaking up fights as they loved to get physical in them. It just caused problems and many times caused more injuries. Was a testosterone tough guy thing with them and hurt the business. I didn't rehire anyone like that.

3 of my best doormen had wrestling/martial arts backgrounds. Small guys who were wirey and tough plus could subdue without violence. None of them were over 5-10 or over 170 lbs. Mikey was probably 5-7 150 lbs but wrestled collegiately for Virginia. Even against much big guys he could take them down no problem. Gordo was about the same size and was New England States high school martial arts champion plus wrestled in high school. Obnoxious kid from Boston but could lock someone up with a hold. Another was Brian who was a 42 yr old Mail Man who was stationed in Japan for 12 years when he was in the military. 5-10 maybe 170 but held black belts in numerous disciplines of Martial Arts. He had hand holds and thumb locks that could bring the biggest guy down to his knees. Was a thing of beauty to watch him take out a guy 50-100 lbs bigger than him. Fights got broken up and nobody got hurt. We only had a couple incidents where it escalated to Road House like fight scenes and that was generally because there were large groups who were being thrown out and became very aggressive with us.

Oh yeah, I know who that guy is. Married to my best friendā€™s aunt.

Yep it sucked in class B. We likely wouldnā€™t have been great otherwise but still would have been more level playing in C1. (F Sacred Heart) I was actually #18 in tackles in class B at one point my senior year until our transfer from FCSH linebackerā€™s (small skinny kid to remain unnamed) dad took over stats and that kid magically went up as my stats dropped. I like the guys but was a dbag move.

We played York, Beatrice, Blair, Auburn, Pius X and a few others that year. It was a murderous schedule for so few ppl on our team.

That write up of the game weā€™re talking about was a really good one. Would have been awesome to watch stuff like that in class.
I enjoyed the team sports, health/gym, weights, woods, welding, ag science or whatever it was and work experience classes myself.

My good buddy and I worked for his dad the last 2 periods of the day for the whole school year in work experience. During harvest we actually worked but in the off season we cracked our beers before leaving the parking lot (cooler always full in the trunk) and drive around and shot shit.

I've been involved in a few.

Worst one for me, where I got my ass kicked, was due to my asshole friend who's 6'1 140lb and loves to run his mouth. At one of those shitty lounge/bar knock off club places back in my early 20's.

Anyways, my buddy starts talking shit with some dudes at the table next to us. That crew is a bunch of older, jacked, spiked haired, diamond stud jeans bros.

After a little back and forth pushing, my buddy smashes a beer bottle over one of the guys heads. The rest of us are unaware. Stoned, drunk, happy. Mini-brawl starts between the two groups. The rest of us reluctantly get in the mix. Our group is able to escape out the back exit with the help of security. We get away pretty much unscathed. Until the crew we fought who left out the front, showed up at the end of the alley and chase us down. We all get our asses beat until the girls we were with pull up in the car to get us out of there.

No one talked to that friend for months.
The bolded cracked me up. You forgot the Affliction T-Shirts

One time, years ago, I was hungry and decided to stop at a sports bar in Norfolk. There was a great grappling match on tv that I wanted to watch. NCAA basketball was also on and I could hear and feel some men talking about it and wanting to change the channel. Well, I stood up and turned around and finger pointed a line in the ground and said ā€œif you want this remote, Iā€™ll take you right here and right nowā€. Of course, they declined and sat back down. I chugged my Budweiser and finished the match and paid my bill.

Down in Cabo with my gf at the time we meet a group from Denver who we hang out with at pool all afternoon. They invite us to dinner at a local spot then we hit up a bar which was a mix of locals and tourists.

End up with a ton of tequila and margaritas throughout the night. A few of us start dancing on our table, which was lofted off the ground. Table next to us of meat head jersey shore guys weren't too fond of it. Same for a table of locals. Jersey shore boys start talking shit.

Next thing I know, a dude comes up behind me, gives me a reach around and attempts to grab my balls. As he walks away I end up stealing his 4 foot Sombrero and go back to dancing on the table. Apparently he took that as an invite and grabs my balls. I do a spinning roundhouse kick right to his nose sending him flying into the table of locals and blood sprays everywhere.

Jersey shore boys fly out of their booth to our table, I'm thinking I'm dead. They come to our booth and start signing 'shot, shots, shots' and ordered us a few rounds of Jager bombs. They thought it was one of the coolest things they've seen.

Bouncers took my side and saw the whole thing. We ended up getting our tab comped over it. Jersey shore boys and the table of locals take us to next bar where we partied all night, making sure that roundhouse boy and his friends didn't retaliate.
