Stock Market/Investing/Day Trading/Speculative Trading Thread

Recessions are like that stuff you drink before a colonoscopy… and America is way past their checkup. Recessions expose fraud and usually restore purchasing power to the working man.

I ♥️ recessions

Why do you suppose Bernie Madoff got busted? Ponzi schemes work well in bull markets, but once there is a pullback the gig is up

I’m quite certain you’re wrapped up in some scheme there Jimbo 🤣
How many did it take to catch Bernie? He just got too big to cover it up. Should have been caught at least twice before he was caught.

He got busted in 08 for a reason there cupcake. Schemes do well in bull cycles bc everyone is making money and no one asks questions. Bear markets flush out the fake rich.

I’m a huge bear market fan !!! Big fan

He was "caught" in 99 when the market was booming by the reporter.

Didn't need a down market to catch him. People are just more likely to yank their money in a down market.

You people don’t read, do you?
Has the pot met the kettle? I think some self reflection would be good. I’ve never said what Trump is doing was wrong or right. It’s just “inconvenient” when you want to say he has committed insider trading but the left has some glaring issues of people making unrealistic gains literally every year. Call it “whatsboutism” but you can’t be critical now without looking back on what has already happened.

The answer is obviously ban individual securities trading by members of Congress. It's a pervasive problem, regardless of political affiliation, and insane that isn't a rule yet.

Beyond that, this is all partisan slapdick. No one here lionizes Pelosi and going to the "but but but, what about the Democrats" whataboutism over every issue is gd tired.
I don’t disagree. I work for a company that grants RSUs and we have limited trading windows. Our C level exec’s have to declare when they are gonna sell. I don’t believe people in congress should be able to buy and sell stocks freely but saying Trump is committing insider trading while many prominent Democrats have accumulated mass amounts a wealth and pretending like it’s nothing is dumb. Nancy Pelosi is literally the number 1 follow on unusual whales. Any reason why?

Insider trading is just the wrong term. Market manipulation is what people are getting at.
