In his final year at Nebraska we were really really good at special teams. DPE, blocking punts, elite kicking, etc...

I would give him 20k, a kennel for his cat and a broom closet.

2. Dan Jackson NIU DB coach & Special teams coordinator

Coaching at Norther Illinois currently... Was at SDSU before.

Jackson, who earned his bachelor's degree at the University of Nebraska-Omaha, spent seven seasons as assistant coach at Harry A. Burke High School in Omaha, Neb. He served as offensive coordinator and coached the linebackers. Jackson earned the Omaha Metro Coaches Assistant Coach of the Year Award in 2008 and 2011.

No clue here if he is any good, but has area connections

3. Bill Busch

Stud recruiter and good special teams coach.

Currently unemployed. He made 450k at LSU. I say we match it and make him recruiting coordinator, special teams coordinator and Travis Fishers #2.

4. Sean Snyder

Probably choice #1, but wont happen unless we open the checkbook to do it.

5. Doug Shearer Miami of Ohio

Cornicator mention him. Makes less than 100k. Back to back years of having top 10 special teams efficiency.

If he could do that at Nebraska we would be saved by a soulless fucking ginger

These aren't in any order. Anybody else to throw on this list?

If I had to guess we move on from Mario (makes 375k iirc) and with Rut gone we freed up about 525k in cash to allocate to this. Frost would coach QBs and we would rock and roll.

Cleveland Browns assistant special teams coach
Would love if Doug C. became the coach. I grew up with him and very close to his family. He was my connect for field pass tickets when he was a GA there under Pelini. He was teammates with Frost too for one year I believe. I met Frost one time through Doug when I was in Lincoln after they both graduated. Doug was playing for the Giants at the time.

I love that he has Husker connections but is he the best coach available? Right now we have an inexperienced staff that is underperforming at the Power5 level. From all accounts Doug was a hell of a player and person but IMHO he is a little light on experience for a Power5 Coach. He's been a Special Teams Assistant for 3 different NFL Teams the last 3 years. Doug has no experience recruiting on a Power5 Level or being in charge of Special Teams. Too many questions and right now we could use a veteran coach. Bill Busch seems like the choice that could help this staff and team the most as we need proven experienced coaches who are not only good as Position Coaches but also proven to be good at recruiting. GBR

I totally agree. It was more for selfish reasons I’d want Doug there. But Busch is by far the best choice, IMO.
