Sipple Gaslighting?

ya, same. I didn't expect a CFP contender in year 2 or 3, but I certainly didn't expect to be the punchline of the conference, either. Steady, incremental improvement each year peaking in a B1G champ game appearance in year 4-5 was what I kinda thought.

Middle of year 3 I was completely done, the 41-23 loss against Illinois did it for me, I was on the fence before during that season, but that game did it. I knew we had a dumb fuck head coach.

That is probably the #1 thing I will remember about him.

He will be regarded as a HC who lost a shit ton of close games and something was missing to get him over the hump.
I think it's fair to say his teams play hard for sure.

I just don't think it's that mysterious why we continue to suck.

This is the most open I have ever seen Sipp about the imminent demise of Frost's coaching tenure at Nebraska. I am surprised he is going here...because he is usually the last to kick dirt on a TC-approved guy. He had no problem doing it to Riley or even Hoiberg. What that tells me is he expects or knows a change is going to happen.

He actually comes across as he hates Hoiberg lol

I wouldn’t be surprised if Frost gets 1 more year after this.

Minnesota during the Covid thing when they were down 30 players caused me to throw a tantrum. Plus I can't state Peej. The opening Illinois loss last year...the whole...well they threw a different defense out there was the end of it for me.

I am pretty sure the extension included a reset of his buyout...

I was for the extension because of recruiting
I thought the buyout needed to remain the same or some form of it.
At least for me, the extension was about as big of red flag one could have had for this not working out. To not be able to sell the program and what he was, supposedly, building with 5 years left on his deal indicated that he didn't have a fucking clue what he is doing. Again, imo

Yep. It read like, "Holy shit, people are going to want to fire this guy, and but quick."

I was told this wasn't Moos's idea to extend Frost's contract. Thought that came down from The TomFather & the TC. Moos was a puppet for them, until he set guidelines for Frost to follow so they got rid of him a couple months later. You can't be holding The Golden Child Accountable.

AMazing how our fans think we are a special kinda of handicapped and take forever to turn around a program. Only The Golden Child would be given 5 years to try and he had the benefit of the Transfer Portal. Callahan & Riley with superior Win/Loss percentages and higher rated classes in recruiting were given basically 2-3 years and then were dead men walking because The TomFather & the TC wouldn't support them. They were outsiders who did things differently which is not acceptable in Nebraska.

Rhule and O'Brien both inherited scandal ridden programs that had low scholarship numbers and no benefit of the Transfer Portal for a quick fix. They turned the teams around season 2. There is a difference between a well coached team with inferior talent that loses. No shame in losing to a superior team if you have inferior talent as long as you look like a well coached team.

Coaching Matters, good coaches find a way to win. Bad coaches make mistakes and blame others. Which do we have right now?

I believe we have the latter - bad coaches making mistakes and blaming others.

It could actually be argued that Frost has done things rather differently than the "Nebraska Way" as well.

What is the Nebraska Way? And what has he done differently besides lose at a record pace compared to anyone not named Jennings? Riley, Pelini and Callahan all had different offenses which is all that Frost has really done differently. Pelini did things differently but was accepted because he was a TomFather hire thus Disciple. Bo had the TomFather, TC, fans & Administration behind him. He was accepted by the Husker Fans as one of us because of his success in 1 year under Frank. From Day 1 Callahan and Riley were hated and not accepted by some of our fans, plus the TomFather & TC. I know 1 small time Booster who wanted Riley fired before we had even played our first game. He refused to accept him even when Riley had us 8-0 and ranked in the Top 10 until we lost in overtime to an undefeated Wisconsin team in Madison.
