With all due respect this is not EXACTLY the same.We took Crouch back after he quit and went back to Omaha. And then he won a heisman. This is exactly the same.

I was actually "in the room" at Blockbuster HQ in Dallas, TX as part of a multi-partner solutions team when they conveyed this news to us. "We've decided to renew our focus on our in-store experience" was the line they uttered when we asked what happened to the "Movies.com" executive that was in the room with us two weeks ago when we made our initial pitch, as our combined solution was very forward looking (at the time) in the sense that it strongly promoted a customer-centric approach across multiple channels. This business decision ranks right up there with Blockbuster thinking internet streaming would be a passing fad.
Different world though. Limited ability to acquire an equal or better replacement back then. And obviously Crouch was a Heisman level talent which Dylan isn't.We took Crouch back after he quit and went back to Omaha. And then he won a heisman. This is exactly the same.
I never knew how to spell nincompoop…thank youI was actually "in the room" at Blockbuster HQ in Dallas, TX as part of a multi-partner solutions team when they conveyed this news to us. The amount of "furtive glances" that went around the room following that statement may have set an all-time record. We were flabbergasted and frankly, completely right about the nincompoops that lead that company straight off the cliff. We had a nearly identical experience with the same team at Sears. Sometimes ... you just know: these people are too stupid for us to save them.

Agree, Crouch quitting before he even played a game at Nebraska for a couple days is exactly the same as our 2 year returning starter shopping himself in the transfer portal. We took Crouch back after he quit and went back to Omaha. And then he won a heisman. This is exactly the same.
In a way, I think not taking Raiola back potentially gives Rhule a bit longer runway. You can sell a bit more of a “rebuild” next year with a better 27 class coming after that. If you took Raiola back, then the pressure is really on at that point. To be honest I think it would tank Rhule's credibility quite a bit with the players and fans at this point. I mean there was barely ANY outcry from fans when Raiola announced he was going into the portal, I think people fully understand the situation was just a bad fit whether they know the ins and outs and behind the scenes or not.
We saw the NU/Raiola experience, I don't think as a fanbase we truly believe it was ever going to come to fruition the way we all wanted, and Rhule/the program itself feels refreshed in a way that makes it seem like we're back on the original track after trying to compromise the original vision for the last two years. I for one would rather see what the vision looks like in its next iteration than go back to the Raiola well again.
Bingo, I was thinking this exactly. There is a reason you broke up in the first place and it’s best both sides move on. I really hope Rhule says no thanks if he does want to come back. I think he’s a good kid just getting controlled by his dad, and hopefully he finds a good landing spot that will tell Dom to go to hell we are calling the shots. It's like debating if you want to get back with your crazy ex: is it desperation by both parties? are things going to change if we get back together? is she going to lose weight?
Raiola is not worth it. It will also be nice to move away from whatever system we were trying to run with him where we "just need" a lineup of 5 stars to make him better.

I don’t think he’s leaving to get a raise. The QB is supposed to be the leader of the team and set the tone for the program. You can justify some players using the portal to get a raise but the face of the program who was already making the most money on the team. Nah let him go figure it out elsewhere.
I am probably way off base. But this whole situation strikes me that Dom got pissed off after UCLA game (could have been sooner). In the heat of the moment, he overreacts, lashes out at Rhule and decides Dayton and Dylan are moving on.
This could all be end up biting him in the butt. But too much has happened now to take him back. I also don’t see Dom swallowing his pride and asking to come back.

New guy coming in hot boys! Take cover! 😂Feel free to skip it, bitch. But if you can't offer more than that, take your act elsewhere...
You’re talking to a TPB legend. Show some respect tater boy.Feel free to skip it, bitch. But if you can't offer more than that, take your act elsewhere...
Oh please let him go to K-STATE. That would do wonders for his ego. Oh please let this happen.Probably not, but being told your best offer is 800K to go to Kansas St will definitely make a man pause and reflect.
