Just to be clear. I don’t know anything or heard anything about Kstate. Would be hilarious though. I was just using them as an example.
As long as Holgorsen is the OC they need to have a QB that fits his system the best. They tried it with Dylan it didn't end up working out. When they were able to use a QB that was a better fit Dom freaked out and accused the coaches of calling better plays (allegedly). They don't need to find another 5 Star guy just someone that can run the system at a high level.
I’d like to think any OC worth his salt could turn out a good offense no matter the play style of the QB. I just don’t think Dylan or our line was good enough. Talent was what held us back.
If Rhule brought the Raiolas back to me at least it would be going against everything he's said about culture/team the past three plus years.
I agree 100% but that’s under the assumption we make the team around him better overall. As in, spend a bunch of money in the portal and spend it well.
Although if other rumors about the family are to be believed, maybe Rhule has just been a fast talking charlatan the whole time
100% and I think that's why Rhule wouldn't bring the Raiolas back because it isn't what's best for the team going forward.

Personally I can't square the story that Dylan cold called Rhule to say he always dreamed of being N and wanted to flip and Rhule giving him the "you need to be sure about this" speech and then Dylan showing up on campus and Rhule bending over backwards for him and his dad when he hit campus as both being true.
But I've also said all along that Rhule retained Uncle Donny because he thought it was the right thing to do and if he did it for any other reason he was out of his depth as a HC in major college football
I'll give Rhule this, he's way more meme and gif-able than his predecessor who spent 3 years looking hungover and bloated
To be fair on Donnie, up to the end of last year, I don’t think it was super clear that he wasn’t going to work out. The line at the end of last year was actually playing pretty well (they were the better unit in the Cockeye game last year IMO). The wheels really just fell off this year and Rhule rightfully pulled the trigger.
Oh yeah, but that's also a reason why I've thought both things were mostly independent of each other in Rhule's eyes. Donny's lines seemed to be coming along a bit and this year should have been a real solid one given the experience they had

Yeah for sure. It sounds like Rhule letting Donny go didn’t necessarily have an impact on Dylan’s decision either way based on the rumors.
