September recruiting thread

So Benning has to be a take at this point, right? Or else he’ll 1000% be the kid we passed on who becomes an All-American at some other Midwestern school.
Definitely making a great case this year. I really just think between testing numbers, or lack thereof, and him missing so much time last year, teams just wanted to see him do it live. He's done it.

I don't think Benning was never not a take for us. He just wants to do things his way.

Is Huffman the most overhyped coach in the Metro?
This was West first game I didn't attend this year and I haven't been to in games in years past. I would say yes, absolutely yes! They are such a poorly coached team and their play calling is TERRIBLE. I had a buddy who went to the game last night. He is an Cockeye fan and said the same thing. They don't use their weapons. They try to use their weapons as decoys, spreading them out wide on an island, hoping it pulls the safety over too.

Not sure if he is even looking but go get Cole Payton in the Portal. Dudes a baller. Part of a 2 QB system right now at NDSU. People will be like oh he is a back up. NDSU produces legit QBs that can play at any level. I know for a fact after watching Sims play that Nebraska would be 2-0 with Payton behind center.

In addition, this may sound like a hot take but Anthony Rezac could legit run this offense better than Sims right now.

Some highlights from Rezacs game Friday against Bell West.

KSt Online (On 3) sent a writer to Brix' game this past weekend and is claiming, based on the conversation, that it is now a two team battle - KS & OU - and NU is third.

He said he isn't taking any more visits before he decides.

Take this with a grain of salt because people do read a lot into these conversations. The rationale was that he talked a lot about K St and OU, and not much about NU.

Five-star offensive tackle Brandon Baker of Santa Ana (CA) Mater Dei narrowed his list to five schools Sunday afternoon.

The 6-foot-5, 290 pounder is down to the following: Oregon, Nebraska, Florida State, Texas, and Ohio State.

The top offensive tackle will announce his college decision on September 24th.

Breaking down the finalists

Baker broke down what stands out about each of his top schools:

Oregon Ducks – It’s home away from home.

Nebraska Cornhuskers – I love the city of Lincoln & love what Coach Rhule’s all about.

Florida State Seminoles – Coach Norvell is all about business, he is all about that work. I love his mentality, & he’s showing it this season.

Texas Longhorns – Seen what coach Sark did at Alabama, I believe he’s gonna do something special. Coach Flood alongside him makes it 2x better.

Ohio State Buttguys – They have a rich culture & tradition, reminds me a lot of Mater Dei. No question in my mind, Ohio State is A1 when it comes to development.
