Rivals board with a true Injury Report

I think the issue is we do less than the restrictions. We’ve missed out on 90+ bowl practices over the last 5 years, i think we need all the live to the ground reps we can get.

Spring game was a good opportunity for some live bullet flying action…. Nope 2 hand touch. Good teams don’t worry about injuries before they happen.
I don't think you're wrong.

I'm just speaking to the trend in college football.

Yeah i hear ya

I also agree you don’t just hit your star players/ work horse running backs etc. But young guys need those reps to develop and get acquainted with big boy football.

Just so frustrating that its year 5 and we haven’t built the kind of depth where a few injuries doesnt kill us.

Our practices in general suck. Is it true we dont even stretch we just do aerobic type shit to get loose? Who gives a fuck about the timing of jumping jacks.

I saw Saban on TV walking around at an Alabama practice the other day. The players were laying on the ground doing 2 man stretching like most competent programs have done for 100 years
dynamic stretching has been relevant for quite some time now.

frost still sucks regardless.

We do any static at all? Just trying to figure out why our 4 star OL guys look less agile and fluid than Purdue’s 2 star OL last night. We are clearly doing something wrong

If i’m coach i send a spy to a Nick Saban practice and copy it to a T.

Greg had a point with being critical of how we practice. No tackling during the spring game, limited tackling during fall camp, no tackling now in-season.

Is it a surprise at all we were soft as fuck and couldn’t tackle on Saturday?
So you and @Alcaus response was interesting. McKewon did his normal fans mail bag deal earlier this week. I can't remember the question, but he brought up the intro presser and how Frost wanted to combine Husker Power with Oregon Speed. And in his Sam's answer, he said it's felt like Frost has leaned more towards Oregon speed, and that influence, in his tenure. Which got me thinking based on your answer, Frost's play calling has been much more Oregon like, and he's always trying to out scheme people. Take that concept of lack of tackling in fall camp, and I think we all have our answer. Husker Power Frost is long gone, and he is without a doubt the Scott Frost from Oregon Speed under Chip Kelly. Talks about physicality, but we never really see it offensively.

That's not the Frost I hoped for in 2018 honestly.

It's not just about the stretches done at practice. Our s&c philosophy is why we're rigid and less fluid than others.

#WarDaddy ain't the way, y'all

It was kind of ironic. In The Purdue vs Penn State pregame, Urban Meyer basically said that both teams had been practicing best on best in preparation for each other, risking injuries because the team needs it to be prepared to face a conference foe. Said that was the way he did it as well.

Caught my attention.

Something I can sympathize with is that four out of Frost's five season openers have been against P5 opponents. He hasn't had the luxury of feasting on cupcakes in week 1 to see how players react in an actual game situation to tune things up before getting into the meat of the schedule. But I would fucking hope by now that Frost would understand that he needs to run that last week of practice as close to in-game play as possible to be prepared.

That was my thinking as well. He's done this for years, it shouldn't be a surprise.

I wouldn't describe Frost's program up to this point as overly physical but it could just be recency bias.

This is more of how to the ground tackling is taught across levels of football.

I'd say that's a much bigger piece than the "well they're not tackling at all crowd."

They are contact restricts across all levels of football, especially live situations. I don't know what it is collegiately, But I'm sure it's similar. And coach's don't want to go to the ground anyways. That's when the majority of your injuries occur, limit it as much as possible.

Pretty much every program I'm guessing runs the majority of their practices at Thud pace. It's high and hard. Some guys do get tackled to the ground, but you don't have dudes landing on top of each other. That's the only difference.

My guess is this...They're Thud, but the whole mouthpiece thing does hold a lot of credit IMO. If you're not worried about getting your shit rocked, because you've got quick whistles...than, that makes sense. And if you've got quick whistles, dudes are pulling up and not really playing at game speed.

That's the problem IMO. If that's what's happening.
Seems like the mouthpiece thing has been getting worse. Was talking about this with a buddy last year and it was while watching NFL games.

Maybe they're sticking it in at the last minute and just don't know they're doing it. Kind of like @Baron Winnebago 's wife.

What would be the point of putting it in after I prematurely ejaculate? Use your brain Jim
