Recruiting thread - race to signing day

so someone smarter than me break this down. Numbers seem pretty much unlimited based on offers still going out. Who am I forgetting?

QB Hornsby or Sims
RB: K Jones
Wr: Coleman, Ngoyi, Lloyd
TE: Metzger
OL: Cornelius, Scott, Goldman

Edge: Princewill, Lenhardt, Border
DL: SD hogmolly, Juedy
LB: Fields
DB: Nation, Collier

literally seems like they'll take a dozen more commits by early signing day if they can ( good strategy)

IIRC isn't there some sort of loophole with new coaches and basically 10 free scholarships?

edit: found the article https://insideusc.blog/2022/05/17/usc-morning-buzz-lincoln-riley-uses-rule-to-revamp-roster/

They got rid of scholarship requirements this year. You can take as many as you want as long as you stay under 85
yes - this is a way of reducing the number of existing scholarship players counting toward the 85, it isn't related to the (suspended) annual limitation.

Interesting-

But according to the Athletic, Riley also freed up around 10 scholarships by utilizing an NCAA rule that affects “Aid After Departure of Head Coach.”

The rule says when a coach who recruited and provided a scholarship to a student-athlete is replaced (like Clay Helton), the coach has the right to not invite an athlete back to the team the following year.

The athlete may be given the right to stay at the school on scholarship until the athlete graduates with their degree.

So you can stay at USC, you just can’t play football. And your scholarship will no longer count against the football program.

The rule’s original intention was to benefit student-athletes who are close to finishing their degree requirements and want to stay at their school in order to graduate.

That rule has been around for awhile. I can’t remember the names but there were a couple that did that under Frost.
