I'm not a fan of keeping Raiola...at all.

This is the only thing I'll say about all of this in a positive light. I think Rhule is a hard-ass and holds his assistants to a high standard and requires them to work as hard as he does. There's the story out there that he basically told the one OC that this, this, this, and this needs to happen....or you're fired. I guess my point being, these guys are going to be required to work, and work at a high level, and if they don't cut it, he'll cut them loose. I don't know if he has a history of doing it, or maybe he's effective in that regard of getting his assistants to perform, both in recruiting and development. He's had a history of that occurring. I hope that's the case...I was also hopeful of getting a top flight OL coach, OC, and DC....becoming underwhelmed, and I've been mostly positive towards whoever Rhule hires on staff...

Sounds like a great guy to work for. No wonder he’s down to his 3rd and 4th option on most of these hires.

I don't either. I just thought it was funny. The way I read it, the OP doesn't think so either.

He'd have to be real pissed at UW to go to Nebraska. Not that Wisconsin cares at all about NU, it'd just be a betrayal to go to another B1G West school.

I have to think he's going Packers or he heard about a HC job opening up maybe. I don't think he is or was ever in play for Nebraska. He has zero tie to Rhule.

Makes you wonder who they might get as offensive analysts to help on the backend. That might be where some assistance comes into play.

While at the store, you decide to spend the whole $20 on almond joys, and the store only had $10 worth, but you still paid the whole $20. I realize he was dealt a bad hand with what he was left with, but I saw a lot of confusion on the line in not knowing who to block at times and just didn’t see a coach that made his players better. It’s quite the risk to hire a coach who led the worst OL we may have ever seen at NU.

I also realize that it’s really hard to blame him on last years woes.

But I thought they’d try to hire an older guy more experienced guy for this spot.

I think Donnie really can’t be fairly evaluated given the mess he inherited. I think he’s a good coach.

I just thought we’d go with someone a bit more proven and experienced.

I was kinda excited about Raiola when Frost first hired him.

He didn't exactly blow me away, but had at least some improvement over the course of the season with a decimated line & no input on who was recruited.

With a full offseason, a coherent offensive identity, and some new/healthy faces, I can see a path to reasonable improvement, but I remain very much in "prove it" mode. He can start by reeling in a quality portal guy or two.

Would prefer to have a differing older voice in that offense coaching staff. Right now if a solution is needed it falls solely on Satterfield unless they really backfill the analyst room with some older voices.
