Purdue getting boat raced by Ohio State

I don’t disagree that we could have easily been a 1-2 loss team and I also don’t disagree that coaching hurt. I’m not going to sit here and say that coaching was THEE reason that we aren’t a 1-2 loss team or as the other guy said, a play off contender….

Players have to at some point take some responsibility for poor performance as well.

Can we really blame a coach for our all big ten kicker waking up one day and being a completely different person?

4 years to establish depth and quality backups. He's failed to do so at multiple positions

I listed QB/QB coach, OL coach and half assed special teams unit away. You come at me asking if I truly thought we were only a QB coach and OL coach away from the playoff this year. Try to keep up.

You’ll be glad to know that all of those things have been addressed. So playoff in 2022 now right and everybody lives happily ever after?

You're a fucking potato. This team loses a lot next year, unfortunately the starting QB the past 4 years probably won't be one of them.

The levels you're going to in order to defend a coach that's won 3 games out of 10 in his 4th year is embarrassing.

Where am I defending him in our exchange? Not a single time here. I think it’s bed time you drunk buffoon.

You've made quite a few excuses for him. Who's responsible for getting the team to play to it's full potential as you've previously mentioned?

Falls squarely on the coaches shoulders.

Explain to me where I disagreed with this statement. Thanks in advance

Not sure those are the issues that are gonna keep us out of playoff contention.

I suppose I don’t watch field goal kickers miss field goals and think that a special teams coach fixes that issue. I don’t watch Cerni miss his target by 40 yards and think that a special teams coach fixes that. Or watch the other guy have 4 kicks under 15 yards and think to myself that a special teams coach fixes that.

I’m not really looking at the OL and thinking coaching was 100% the problem. I don’t think talent is the issue either.

So no. I don’t think not firing those coaches before this year kept us from a playoff spot.

I suppose if that’s your stance, you’ll be happy to know those moves have been made now. So playoff bound 2022?
Did Cerni really miss his target? I thought he just didn't know which way to kick it (which can be attributed to him either being dumber than a rock or bad coaching).

That is either bad recruiting or bad coaching, so who gets the blame?

Watch the way the coverage team runs. The ball has to go to the other side of the field.

Salty defense + shitty OLine + qb w/o the clutch gene = Close losses to everyone regardless of how good the opponent is

It’s really pretty simple

The clutch part very well could be right. Martinez only won four games in high school. It’s crazy to think he has never been on a winning football team.

It is extremely apparent he’s not really bothered by losing and I don’t think that was something he learned at Nebraska.

Definitely something to be said about recruiting kids from winning programs.

And sometimes it’s not the kids fault he plays on a shitty team, but most elite high school players get recruited to good teams in a lot of places. All of our backup qbs won a lot of games in high school, but they probably aren’t the answer either.

Yeah, that part is obvious. What's more likely - he missed by 40 yards or didn't know which way to kick it in the first place?
