I'm a girl dad - I have three amazing daughters who are 8, 5 and 3. All are very much "girls" in the aspect that they love princesses, unicorns, etc. However, we have a fair balance. They watch sports with me and I am going through the MCU movies with my 8 and 5 year old. My oldest is really into soccer and is actually quite good.
My wife also grew up in an all-girl household and has two sisters. Her dad enjoys sports, but has never been on the level that I grew up at. She grew up with the Husker games on every Saturday, but it was background noise for her.
All of that has obviously changed since being married to me. To her credit, she has started to take a serious interest too. Last night my wife proactively asked to go over the depth chart with her so she would know who to be watching for this year. She started asking more questions about the different positions, players roles and we really started getting into more of the nitty-gritty. Before too long, I had the whiteboard out and was drawing up formations and explaining things with a bit more detail. My 8-year-old daughter, God love her, was doing her best to want to be interested. Like I said, I had the whiteboard out and had the X's and O's drawn up. My daughter asked, "Now, are we the hugs or the kisses?"
I laughed so hard for so long. I gave her the biggest hug and told her that was possible the greatest thing that has ever been said to me. Just the epitome of being a girl dad lol.
