Portal Season Thread

If you care about keeping your current guys, it's gotta be a lot easier to sell a guy with only one year left to your current roster. "We're just taking a guy to replace Adrian's last year." Even a guy with two years you could call a replacement for Adrian + Luke. Three or more and I feel like Smothers probably bails.
I wouldn't necessarily care about keeping the current guys if I was Whipple. It be great if one or more them fit into the future plan, but there isn't a benefit of retention if the players don't fit.

Yeah if you're bringing in a transfer in front of a guy who is entering his 3rd year I don't know if you're too worried about his feelings. That's not to say they don't want to keep the guys currently in that room. But it generally means you need competition at the position.

Cornporn on 247 says that Pittsburgh’s all-acc honorable mention center might be a possibility for us
Not in the portal yet but this is who he is talking about.

I can't imagine this kid transferring. They're loaded at RB (a QB's best friend) with plenty of returning and incoming talent at the receiver positions. OK has had a few Heisman QB's in the not-so-recent past, so if he's looking for national exposure he's in the right spot. Unless he misses Lincoln Riley, it seems like a bad idea to jump ship.
