Yep my OSU classmates have been pretty adamant about him and Chip Kelly. They’ve been a little better since playoffs began. But the pitchforks were definitely out again last night during the game.

But agree he's a good coach.

It's weird how many people have said this to me. Maybe I don't notice or care about beard colors...or think about them.

I think Day is smug, so any dislike I'd have for him would be because of that.

I'll bet the Bears make a push for him.

Might be part of why they're interviewing likely non-candidates like Matt Campbell - just keeping the hiring process with some noise while they wait for Day's season to end.

Naw the bears are interviewing everyone cuz George McCaskey thinks ppl will believe they ran an effective & thorough search. Campbell is just one of the extra coaches in their bs & Ryan day would be no different.

It's jealousy. A lot of it is because we physically beat the crap out of them for so many years. And part of it is that we were able to do this with our lack of advantages, and they weren't.

Still doesn't make a lot of sense, though. Be mad at the programs with built-in advantages, not the overachiever. Is what it is, and really it is a compliment in a way that we still russle so many programs. And not just the fanbase, many actual programs still have some chip on their shoulder about us. We have sucked for over a decade, and they still like to circle our game on their calendar. We are 20 years past having a sniff at a nat championship level squad, and still relevant and hated by many. Kind of impressive in its way.

When Terrance Crawford talked to the team, I think he put it best cuz he gets similar hate in boxing. It’s the belief that nothing good can come from Nebraska.

It’s always funny to me how Iowans will think they’re better than Nebraska cuz they drove on I-80 to Colorado & there’s really nothing significant in Cockeye if you did the same drive. Just corn & hills with 3 million ppl even more thinly spread thru out the state.

I was JUST having this conversation with someone today. Crazy that you bring it up.

I was saying it was a wonder that NU in the 1990s didn't attract more bandwagon fans (America loves a winner after all). NU went 60-3 over 5 yrs.

I think it is jealousy. Mid America regular folks are jealous that Nebraska did all that with no advantage. They should be proud but instead they are jealous. So they root against Nebraska bc Nebraska winning makes them feel worse about their own team not being able to do it.

They don't mind seeing OSU, USC, Bama do it bc in their mind their programs are a notch below theirs anyway.
