Panthers trade up for #1 pick

Tua actually showed he wasn’t garbage last year. The issue with him is his body size and the concussions. I don’t see him playing a lot younger. Young’s size is also the main question. The other knock was skipping the combine drills. I will say he did a great job of avoiding big hits in college but it’s the pros. Outside of his size, Young has some pretty good skills.
I think Young is the #1 pick if we hadn't watch Tua nearly die on the field like 3 times this year

If it’s someone besides Stroud or Young it will be comical. Stroud showed he can ball out in a big game against the best if he puts in the effort. There were times at OSU he didn’t seem like he was all in. He wouldn’t take off if there was a lane. Young on the other hand always seemed to do whatever benefited the team.

Don't remember who it was but someone on the radio was talking about how Bryce Young throws and that makes him taller than he is because its over the top. Like equivalent of 6'1" - 6'2".

Not sure I buy that much of a difference but isn't Russel Wilson 5'10" - 5'11"?

Yup, Tua just needs 2 #1 WRs and a Damn good TE to elevate him. He will never be a QB who elevates those around him.

That my criticism behind him

Most qbs need multiple weapons and quality coaching to be good. My point is he is a solid qb. He will probably be bust due to concussions. It has nothing to do with talent.

I’m leaning Stroud now
Don’t think I’d be upset if this is the direction it winds up going.. just really do not want Richardson at 1. Seems like a massive waste if we do that.

Regardless- glad to see us be aggressive and take control of our own destiny versus sit back and wait to see what’s left at 9.

Young's issue is more frame than height, imo. Wilson and even Brees were short but they were/are thicc bois.

Richardson going #1 would be a monumental reach. He's all potential at this point and lacks the basics. A #1 pick should be a guy that can start in his first season. Richardson is a huge project that will have to sit. People think he can be Josh Allen but he's likely more Jordan Love than Allen.

IMO - I wouldn't take him in the top 20. You're gambling with him and losing out on some very good prospects that look NFL ready in this draft.

I like how draft analysts say "he could be Josh Allen" and omit the "or 100 other guys who had the physical tools on paper who sucked in the league"

Yup Tua just needs them to be an average QB.
Tua had 25 tds and 8 ints in 13 games last year. He led the league in passer rating for most of the year and Miami was 6th place in total yards per game and fourth in passing. Like i said if it wasn’t for injuries he would have got a big contract or would be in the process of getting paid some big money soon.

He's just still mad Tyreek left. Personally I'd be glad if I was him. I'd hate to have a player on my favorite team be a wife/child beater. That's one step up from the worst kind of human possible.

Yea I don’t get it. I’m not even a big Tua fan. I had my doubts about him before last year too, but it’s funny he finally gets some weapons and solid offensive minded coach and things turn for him. Coaching and talent around a qb matters. We saw it with the decline of Josh Allen and the improvement of Daniel Jones last year mostly due to coaching.

Let’s try to stay on topic here. We are discussing the Panthers upcoming Super Bowl run
I do think you have a solid head coach. If you get a good qb out of this class he can coach up you might be on to something in a few years. Losing those picks are going to hurt some.

Yeah but there is nothing special about him. He is just a middle of the road QB.

Nah, that is probably the greatest move ever by a GM. It set the chiefs up to win a super bowl in a rebuilding year.
