Our bear was out running around in the daytime today. Followed him over to the neighboring complex.

Good looking pup!We went down to Cooper Landing along the Kenai River. It really is an epic place with one major downfall. There are always tons of people and everything is basically shoulder to shoulder until end of September. You miss out on the legalized snagging of sockeye but I always tell people they should visit Alaska end of August through mid September. The weather generally isn't cold during the day and everything isn't as "busy". Plus the fishing can be pretty good if you time it right. We did not time it right as we were basically fishing in holes that 10+ people had already fished over a 12 hour stretch.
He's not great with strangers and will react aggressively out of anxiety but he's pretty good in certain environments. He's been a joy to fish with this fall but I always have to find a spot where we won't run into people. There's a certain comfort about not running into bears either because he will smell them way before I do.Good looking pup!

That life jacket is a blessing and a curse. It makes him more confident but creates a lot more drag which makes it harder for him to swim in faster currents. A lot of times I have my fly rod in one hand and the other hand is on the life jacket handle.
Got invited to a Bobwhite Hunt on some Johnny Morris Bass Pro ground. Semi-canned hunt (they have been releasing birds every year for like 15+ years and there is a stable wild pop now)
Anywho.... I guess I have to buy a side by side 20 or 28 now...

I’ve heard good things about the CZ Bobwhite SxS in 20 gauge. Reasonably priced, too. Happy shooting!Got invited to a Bobwhite Hunt on some Johnny Morris Bass Pro ground. Semi-canned hunt (they have been releasing birds every year for like 15+ years and there is a stable wild pop now)

Will be there in a week, looking forward to some fall hikes
Terrible dude. Not a Wal-Mart or Vape shop in sight. Those geese have the right idea. Head to Florida.A few pics from this morning. Had our first frost a couple days ago, so the leaves have really started to change now.
Most of the geese left the last couple days, a few of the stragglers.

To the right of the ski runs, if you look close there's some snow up there.

Didn't turn out too well but there was a mist moving across the water with the geese.
