Outdoors thread

That’s no joke man. This was my first trip to shoot up there. I’ve only golfed before. I could walk that property all damn day. Good luck in the blind. I haven’t gotten that itch yet.
I'm curious if it will turn out to "be my thing" as well. I've hunted upland birds for 40 years and enjoyed (almost) every season, but deer hunting is a first for me. It started as a "survival skill" discussion with my son that we both realized we lacked, and thought, "Well shit - we're never going to learn how to do this any younger. How about this year?" So the plan was hatched.

I'm sure we'll make a metric shyte ton of rookie mistakes. I sound like an idiot here in my office practicing my "deer calls" with my new "extinguish" deer call. I've got the fawn and mature male down pretty good, still working on my doe sounds and "community" calling ideas. If it's anything like my duck calling, I'm sure I'll clear Cuming County of every single deer. Jameis H. Winston, I utterly SUCKED at duck calling the many times I've tried it and finally left it to the lads in the blind that didn't "turn" every passing flock with their calling.

Thanks boys, I actually thought the good cellular ones would be way more then that so I just said my price point cuz I didn’t care as long as it was good.

For me the cameras are gonna be used as a combo wildlife and security system.
Spartan has a “Live” camera that you can tap into any time for just under $300. Notifications off either camera are almost instant providing great security option if doubling up for wildlife/filming your wife. Another brand or two are more expensive and Spartans were a year ago but they adjusted down $100 and I’m a little lower yet.

Don’t you go buying those now without shooting me a dm.

Another cool thing @Jim14510 would appreciate is that you can sit in the cabin/house and stick a camera over some deer scraps. When the camera goes off you shine the light or use a thermal scope and just poke the ole coyote right from the comfort of home.

Yeah I don't care if you shoot yotes. Just wouldn't get any enjoyment out of it myself and have no conservation reason to do so.

If a coyote eats your dog, you needed a new dog anyway.

Doesn't take much of a domestic to fight off a coyote.
Good point. I just took him for having a little white fluffy dog that wears a spike vest to ward off predators.

30 degrees but the fishing was was hot at times
