I'm curious if it will turn out to "be my thing" as well. I've hunted upland birds for 40 years and enjoyed (almost) every season, but deer hunting is a first for me. It started as a "survival skill" discussion with my son that we both realized we lacked, and thought, "Well shit - we're never going to learn how to do this any younger. How about this year?" So the plan was hatched. That’s no joke man. This was my first trip to shoot up there. I’ve only golfed before. I could walk that property all damn day. Good luck in the blind. I haven’t gotten that itch yet.
I'm sure we'll make a metric shyte ton of rookie mistakes. I sound like an idiot here in my office practicing my "deer calls" with my new "extinguish" deer call. I've got the fawn and mature male down pretty good, still working on my doe sounds and "community" calling ideas. If it's anything like my duck calling, I'm sure I'll clear Cuming County of every single deer. Jameis H. Winston, I utterly SUCKED at duck calling the many times I've tried it and finally left it to the lads in the blind that didn't "turn" every passing flock with their calling.
