2 – How long will 2026 prospects hold out before making their final decisions?

With the dead period starting on Sunday and prospects prevented from taking visits until September, how long can we expect most D-I prospects to hold out after this weekend?

I think in most cases, July 4 is a safe bet. There is currently too much money tied to the Power Four spots through revenue sharing, and the number of spots is limited. Schools will likely narrow down prospect lists and inform them about the limited spots and funding available, which will likely wrap up nearly all of recruiting by July 4. Only the high-end prospects will have the leverage to extend things, but even then, many schools can’t hold revenue-sharing money and wait on players.

Devin Jackson took an unofficial to Florida at the same time CJ Bronaugh did this week

Obviously he is re-examining his decision to decommitt from Florida

Not sure McCuistion knows with certainty where Sone is going, but he does know he isn't going to OU (McCuistion is the OU publisher). Sone cancelled his OV to OU this weekend and went to Texas instead.

we got at chance at claude? would be a massive get for us!
I think we have a very good shot. 247 National:

Mpouma is a true 6-foot-8, 305 pounds. A former basketball player, he picked up football prior to his junior year and that ended up being his first season of football. He picked it up quickly, showing athleticism but also physicality in that big frame. He became a national recruit then transferred to Mount Carmel for the coming season.
Handicapping his recruitment:
Following a June 6th official to Auburn, word was that the Tigers felt very good about their chances.

Then Florida got him for an official June 13th weekend and said it felt like home, casting doubt on whether or not the Tigers still held the lead. In fact, Gators247 has Mpouma in their mock class, a development that came as a result of a strong official in Gainesville.

This weekend, he's at Nebraska and early returns have the Huskers now making a move as he spends time with other commits including 2027 quarterback commit Trae Taylor, an Illinois native.
