October recruiting thread

Sad boner

I get that it’s OSU, but this kid doesn’t see our D dominating? He doesn’t see Lenhardt, Princewill, Riley shining as true freshman?

It’s still our loss, but man, what more do you have to do? Identify the kid early, give him a shot, build a relationship, show a great product on the field that features young guys…

He’s unpinned his commitment tweet and there is nothing Nebraska related visible
Honest question...do we know for sure that his commitment tweet was pinned and there was Nebraska stuff in his profile previously?

A quick glance at his Instagram profile shows he still has Nebraska commitment video pinned and mention of him being a Nebraska commit.

Life will be better when we’re regularly winning 9 to 11 games and don’t have to worry about better programs poaching our commits with a late offer. Until then, this kind of thing is gonna happen.

Lacy still had mention in his IG bio of him being a Nebraska commit up until he announced his decommitment.

99.9% sure.

Yep. I was gonna say....rebuilding is a hard. If it was easy, everyone would do it.

My question is, are people already tailing Rhule's recruits? We know it's a question of 'when', not 'if' the top programs start tailing his diamonds in the rough-type finds. I'd be interested to know if the top schools have already taken notice & are tailing the offers we have out there.

I've heard a couple recruiting experts who fully expect that at some point, some peer schools will start doing their TX recruiting evaluations by pulling up Rhule's offer list and going after those guys (peer schools = step below OSU/MICH/UT etc).

This is new for us bc our last 3 HCs were not respected for their talent identification skills. No one was tailing Pelini, Riley or Frost's recruits.

I don't want Jones to go. He is my favorite recruit in this class. But, when a committed guy posts an offer and then sets a visit then there is usually only one way it goes.

So much for wins and good performances on D keeping a recruits attention. None of it matters when the big boys come with an offer I guess. Seriously, our defense looks fun to play on. I just don't get it.

seriously question whether Jones OSU offer is committable
You be correct. Per the 247 Ohio St site, the Buttguys are looking for one or more additional DEs (they have one in the class) and seem to be auditioning three guys. They already had a DE committed to Florida in, and the week Jones goes or the week after, they have an Edge committed to Kansas in. All three of these guys are on officials.

Even if he doesn't go to Ohio St, they'll be other people working him now that they know he is open to changing schools.
