October recruiting thread

Yeah that wasn't the point. It was Carlon responding. Not sure that's really a positive to staying at Nebraska but optimistically maybe?

Unless you're looking for a nice cope lol

The question I have is how did Carlon see this? Why did this wrestling recruiting guy even tweet this out? It must have been set up intentionally for him to have something to re-tweet.

Yeah I think you're over thinking that as much as I am but in a different way.
Maybe I am - but this is an account that doesn't follow anyone, including Carlon. Maybe the algorithm feeds him everything related to college athletics recruiting based on his posts since the account opened two weeks ago.

better recruit the kid from Paw Paw hard so we have a great relationship before Urban Meyers gets to East Lansing and offers him
Didn't Tim McGraw sing, and I quote, "The village cheiftan is my Paw Paw, he gets his orders from my Maw Maw?"

I think this guy's tweet is borderline disrespectful/insulting - telling the team that bet heavy on him early that they should be happy for him getting this offer and take solace in the fact they identified someone Ohio St would want and then adding that they should just try to out-recruit Ohio St. I am sure Carlon didn't mean to be disrespectful.

When they talk Rhule can say the obvious - look at how the freshman DL are developing at Nebraska and you are the only DL we are taking this year. Tell him that if he takes the OV to Columbus and things don't work out with Ohio St there may not be a spot at Nebraska to return to. We have a very large freshman class and need to make decision on how the numbers work in the near term, including who else we can take, and the spot may be gone.

Blair Angulo put in a CB for Ruggeroli to Nebraska yesterday

His rationale (and he says it could happen before this week is over

A new prediction in the 247Sports Crystal Ball went in for Nebraska after a successful weekend on the field as coach Matt Rhule and his staff chart their path toward the Early Signing Period.

The Huskers have a deep class of 26 verbal commitments with about eight weeks to go until signing day, good enough for No. 25 nationally in the Composite team recruiting rankings.

Could they be on the verge of adding another name to that list?

We like where Nebraska sits with Las Vegas (Nev.) Bishop Gorman offensive tackle Alexander Ruggeroli, who was in Lincoln on Saturday to watch the Huskers take down Purdue. From everything we’ve gathered, the unofficial visit made a tremendous impression on the 6-foot-6, 285-pound Ruggeroli and his connection with position coach Donovan Raiola has put Nebraska in pole position.

As far as a decision timeframe, there are some indications that Ruggeroli could be really close to coming off the board. One source suggested that it might even happen before the week is over, which would put the Huskers in a favorable spot to add another good piece out West.

The Huskers already hold a pledge from one of the best offensive line prospects in the West region, four-star Preston Taumua of Hawaii, whom they beat out Auburn and Oregon for.

Ruggeroli has an official visit scheduled with Arizona State for the final weekend of November to see the Sun Devils take on rival Arizona. But if he indeed makes a decision soon, it should be interesting to see if that trip still takes place.

Nebraska hasn’t signed a high schooler from the state of Nevada since the 2017 class when they went to powerhouse Bishop Gorman for four-star receiver Tyjon Lindsey. Before that, it was four-star offensive lineman Nick Gates, also of Bishop Gorman, in the 2014 cycle. Both Lindsey and Gates were the No. 1-rated players in the state for their respective classes, per the 247Sports rankings.

I only see 4 teams
Part of the picture is cropped off. If you click on the picture, you see another row of teams, including Oklahoma, which everyone says he is destined for. IIRC from when we offered him, both his dad and high school coach played at Oklahoma, and may in fact in one in the same person, and the school has a pipeline of sending its top players to OU.

Yes his dad is the HC of the HS team
