Nebrasketball Roster

As long as Abdelmassian…or whatever his name is…no longer has his fingers in the program the better we will be.

Guy was a complete cancer in the program.

I've heard this from more than one person. One is a significant basketball donor.

What’s the deal with him? I mean, I figured he didn’t know more than maybe a good high school coach about basketball and he seemed like more of a super fan than a coach. But cancer is a strong word to use. What makes you say that ?

Anyone else a bit worried?

Sammy G
Wilcher
Gary
Wilhelm
Walker

Blaise
Ramel
Lawrence

I don’t see much improvement. Maybe it’s just me.
I think at this point you pray Trey comes back. We won't get any of the good remaining transfers and any that we do get won't be an upgrade on him now.

Too short. Never trust a midget.

Eh idk… Will Trey just try to take over like his brother and prove his nba stock? We need team guys around here honestly. But in the end we will likely suck no matter what so if he wants back may as well.

He provided zero coaching. Was/is an enabler for players to have no accountability both on and off the court. When Webster made his comments about the team...many of the things he was alluding to, were direct results of him.

...and since Fred isn't big on confrontation at all, it was/is the perfect mix for the results we've experienced.

Trey is a much better team guy compared to Bryce. He just unfortunately doesn't provide consistent offense period. But there's not much left out there in the portal that'll be better.

Yeah. Any path to the NBA for trey is going to be a poor man's Matisse Thybulle. Plus defender, not all that useful on offense. I think if he comes back and gets his FT and 3 pt %'s up he's got an outside shot at a second round spot next year

I see what you’re saying. He’s young. That doesn’t mean he shouldn’t have been better and it doesn’t excuse his lack of quality. But I think him being young hurt him bad in that regard where it was easy to just push him right over.

He’s like the assistant coach in college soccer that lives on campus that nobody fuckin listens to and is too much of a “friend” rather than an authority.

In fairness, he was here to recruit and his track record was/is impressive of getting NBA level talent into programs. He didn't hide that. I heard him talk about it multiple times in interviews. For whatever reason that didn't happen here....not enough collective talent to get Nebrasketball winning. Soooo, it was a pretty easy choice to let him walk based on that alone. Granted all the things you alluded definitely didn't help him either imo.

Back when they were doing it at ISU, hardly anyone was recruiting transfer players. Now everyone is.
