Shrewsberry has clearly sold some people with deep pockets on his vision. Hell of a couple weeks in recruiting for Notre Dame Basketball
They’re already all over Bynum, but if it comes down to a bag off they know it’ll be an uphill battle for them. They’re banking on the relationship and that they were in early.
Helluva week. 3+ high-profile just recruits in the last 7ish days? Damn

2 years ago I went to a Notre Dame basketball game with a friend who's cousin was one of their Asst Basketball Coaches. We got the Royal Treatment including seeing all of the facilities and even getting to play hoops in their gym. It is embarrassing how small and dated their facilities are, like really bad. They have a small weight room that is shared by the women's & men's basketball teams. The Men's Locker Room was a joke and tiny. So cramped when the players were in there. Even the coaches offices were a joke. I will say all of the players were incredibly nice, well spoken and polite. I joked with the players about the lack of attractive women on campus and they all said the pickings were quite slim.
Long story short…our HS recruiting for ‘25 has gone to shit and we’re likely going to focus on the portal.
Just when it felt like Hoiberg was getting some momentum among high schoolers, things tanked. Wtf.
Can't read the Robin article but gotta believe if Notre Dame Boosters open their check books for NIL that few schools can compete with them on $$$$. Shitty facilities or not it's hard to compete with big bucks. Seems like that is the case with the big kid from Dakota. I'm not shutting the door on any recruits until they sign

Is there something fundamentally wrong with Fred trying to hit grand slams in HS recruiting and if they don't work out taking good college players in the portal?
I'd like to know what happened with Bashir, but Chumbawumba looks like a dude who we bring in, he can't do much, and he goes to San Jose State

Bynum is just becoming a long shot because of the bigger names that are after him. Pretty sure he said we were his leader no less than a month ago.
