Breaking NCAA coming for us

The observable product that is often characterized by repeated mistakes and sloppiness, on and off the field, is not an indication of (lack of) accountability within the program?

What sloppiness are you referring to off the field?

You can be the most accountable person in the world but that doesn’t mean you’ve got the capacity to fix what is wrong.

Just because you don’t get it done at work does not mean that there’s something wrong with you personally that’s hampering your ability to get it done. It very well could be that maybe you’re not cut out for that role. That might be the case with Frost. Time will tell.

This is certainly true. In fact, said essentially the same thing verbatim earlier today irl.

The lack of accountability shines in the product on the field and the way the head man always has an externally-directed excuse. It's been that way since Day 1, and I haven't seen a whole lot of change with time. There is still time, but that time is getting awfully short. Or at least it should be getting short.

I have a question for you. Not arguing either, just a question, because I wonder the same on the scrolls during the season. Do you consider an excuse to be the same thing as say explaining a fact as to why something didn't work?

Easy example, Troy 2018, we realistically probably win that game if Adrian, and realistically probably beat Colorado in the end if Adrian stayed healthy. Do you consider the phrase "odds are we beat Troy in 2018 with a healthy Adrian Martinez" an explained fact or an excuse for why we lost?

Another example is Colorado 2018. Can't remember who had the flag at the end of the game that continued Colorado's drive but would you consider that to be a fact as to why we lost that game, technically, or that situation as an excuse to why we lost that game given everything else that happened?

Facts certainly can be used as excuses. It's all about the context and how it's used. Quantity and pattern also matters.

I don't think your examples here are really relevant to the greater pattern that we've seen with how Frost handles criticism and adversity in Lincoln. This isn't a Year 1 critique.

Right, I understand. Was just trying to use a couple basic examples. The excuse last year about Cockeye clapping to throw off Cam was horrible lol I laughed at that

I sincerely don't know how much you're joking around or if you have something personal against Frost.

If the former carry on. I don't find it funny but some might and even if it only entertains you by getting under others skin then more power to you. I assume this is the case.
Were you on RSS when he was there? I've never seen someone bullshit so much, so often, as old Tone. The dude can't let a thought go through his head without posting it on a message board, whether it's true or just a troll to rile people up.

I witnessed Tone on RSS. Initially he bugged the shit out of me but I grew to enjoy his schtick.

Bringing his schtick here I'm not 100% it's a schtick.

Are we really so stupid to get upset over outfits and body language in an off the cuff presser after a practice to address something that really isn’t a big deal that nobody will care about next week?

Jesus Christ Husker fans are stupid people and we make something that is suppose to be fun miserable.
I don't think anyone is that upset about it. It all about perception for me, maybe I'm a little old school about things but when you go out to address a NCAA investigation big or small bullshit or not, you should come out and look and act like a professional that represents the team, the school, the state. Instead of looking like a guy that just came in from mowing the lawn and pouting like a little kid who just got in trouble. I get he's sick of the bullshit but this is part of the job to address these things like it or not and do it like a professional.

Yeah the hat and practice clothes don't bother me but the pouty arms folded thing just looked really childish. Even Bo at least attempted to look like a Big Scary Man when he was being an asshole. This just looked like a kid being pulled by his ear into the principal's office by his dad.

I guess I just don’t see the point in treating something so small as a big deal.

Objectively speaking, there wasn’t a way that this could have been done that would have satisfied Nebraska fans. If Turd would have gone out and handled it, we’d have said he was hiding behind his AD. If he’d have gone alone, we’d have asked where Turd was. If he was dressed in a suit, we’d have seen it as some admission of guilt.

Ultimately, people were always going to see what they wanted to see. The athletic department clearly acting under the direction of Turd Alberts decided to handle it as casually as possible.

I agree in general, but I do think it would've been pretty easy for the two of them to show up looking like adults and have Turd give his AD non-answers, and have Frost just say "Hey guys thanks for being here today, we're confident that we didn't break any rules but we're cooperating and welcoming their closer look and we'll take care of it once we hear more. Looking forward to the game! Go Big Red!"

Boom, their quick appearance is a non-issue instead of adding more weirdness haha

They attempted to not use a podium to create the perception that they were open, honest, and inviting and I think they could have benefited from putting both of them at podiums. They probably didn’t put too much thought into it.

What would people be saying if Cockeye or Colorado had a coach that was 12 and 20 and the media just found out that he and his team were under NCAA investigation and the coach came at looking and acting like Frost did? I guess that over the last few years I have seen too many people act and say things that a person in their position shouldn't say or do and other people make excuses for their behavior instead of holding that person to a higher standard.

You’re right. Better fire Turd Alberts. He allowed this total mockery to happen and even gave his blessing for it.
