MLPFC Shit Posting

I assumed by PTO it was referencing the on-board generators that are in the new Fords......

I was curious so I looked it up. Legit Power take off option from the factory. I assumed that was all add on aftermarket stuff done by companies that install boom lifts, dump beds, etc.

As Woodrow said, it’s a legit PTO and it’s only available in F250 or higher. The on-board generators are available in even F150s.

I also didn’t know it was a straight from factory (relatively minor) option.

Im more of a Chevy/GMC guy but I don’t want a diesel pickup for my everyday ride. (I grew up being told plug in when it’s below 20 degrees, I live in Western Nebraska/Kansas… we have like 80 days a year minimum that get below 20)

for a farm truck or a work truck it’s fine, but I average about 500-600 miles a week just for work, no time for a diesel

I'm looking at GM's 3.0 half-ton diesel for my next truck......~30 mpg is attractive to me

Mine is always in 8. I had an '09 that I let the AFM run on and it ultimately blew up the engine after about 145k miles. I disabled AFM on the 16 right off the bat.

Im on the highway too much to do that, but yeah for a farm or work truck I'd for sure do that.

I saw GM is gonna temporarily stop putting AFM/DFM in the 5.3, would be nice if they made it optional moving forward.

I got this pickup in 2018 and I have already put 160k+ miles on it. Looking at 2500 or F250s right now. (King Ranch or High Country)

Mine was all hwy miles.............still ruined it. Didn't even think about chancing it on the '16.

I bought it in 17 with 15k miles on it.........last year I had an offer from the dealership to buy it back from me with nearly 70k miles on for more than what I had originally paid for it.

Would have pulled the trigger, but there was literally no inventory to trade for at the time.

Since we are now a pickup MPG thread, we are currently holed up at a steakhouse / BBQ joint in Trinidad, CO ready to enjoy some grub (completely surrounded by dispensaries in this town - holy hell), and we’re averaging 21.2 on the trip. Dodge Ram 1500 with a 5.7 Hemi running at 81 mph on the interstate. I’m OK with that number.

The true measure of a MLPFC / MPG thread tied to our beloved midwest geography. Shit posting at it’s finest.

This thread is the 2021 internet version of all of us sitting in the local donut shop sipping coffee and talking about our pickups and listening to the sage wisdom of the old settlers (@bbenson67 @LoudHogRider and @Elizabeth Reed )

The My Little Pony Thread is more convenient and less calories...but no donuts, six in the hand half dozen in the other sort of deal.
