all joking aside it’s really hard to find ethanol in NW KS or SW NE

Premium is also a tough find, my wife’s stupid ass Qx80 can’t take ethanol and is supposed to only have 91 or 93. Well news flash there ain’t no fucking 93 probably within 200 miles and as of right now McCook (the hub for all of SW Neb) only has 1 place with 91 no ethanol. When we lived in bum fuck NW Kansas the closest towns that had 91 no ethanol were Colby or Wakeeney. (Both 45 mins away)


That’s why I love my Silverado out here taking anything like the beautiful American Slut she is. 87, e15… e85? Hell yeah put it in me baby. Let’s ride.

They flat ran out of fuel while we were they. Premium only, and they brought out the pump bags for everything but diesel when we were departing. Sad.

One of the more interesting things I had to figure out on my trip back to the Good Life was all the dang choices for gas. I mean what happened to Regular Midgrade and Premium? You know like 87, 89, 91. I swear there were 5 or 6 choices at some stations but no Premium. What?

I must confess I was not prepared for the reaction on the part of the locals when faced with $2.79 a gallon Regular. I felt like a Japanese tourist with a favorable exchange rate compared to California prices. I filled up with Premium today for $4.89 a gallon.

Had a employee do this with a DOT truck and I made him drain and flush the fuel tank.

But that was in Lincoln and a DOT.

Western Nebraska gets a bad wrap. Drove back from Jackson Hole yesterday and the drive from Scottsbluff to Ogallala is beautiful.

Now, the drive between Kearney and Lincoln is some bullshit, but that’s besides the point. Will be going back to visit Lake Mac at some point.

Never get tired of that stretch of Hwy 26. Especially if we’re headed to Bayside to smack the little white ball around. 😄

Btw……who have you heard giving western Nebraska a bad rap?? The rest of the state should be so lucky as to have our climate.

Just the small-town farm boy in me but wouldn’t trade it for Lincoln or Omaha for anything. Moved out to SB in 1978 and have never looked back.
