That’s a beautiful sight that reminds me of my yute. How much did those bad boys weigh??

Oh, yeah. Forgot to ask how the Black Hills were also.

.
826 average.

Pahá Sápa was good. Weather was plenty warm so we did all our touristy shit first thing in the day and would have a late lunch, let the kids kill the hottest hours of the day in the pool. Canada wildfire smoke was too bad until the last day and a half.

I got most of my money back from the Gold Dust Hotel through either free Coors Light or Blackjack winnings at the Gold dust casino.

My memory tends to be pretty foggy some days but it sure seems like I remember my dad buying yearlings that weighed a lot less than 826. Like some as light as 650. Is that possible??

He had two cattle buyers he worked with……one in central SD and the other were brothers from Alliance, out here in the panhandle. 826 sure sounds on the heavy end for most angus calves.

Glad you had fun in the.hills. We’re going up for a week, starting Labor Day weekend. Gonna mostly hit the little white ball sround.

These were light yearlings we turned out on the flint hills weighing right at 600 the first week of may.

Surprised they even have such a thing.

all joking aside it’s really hard to find ethanol in NW KS or SW NE

Premium is also a tough find, my wife’s stupid ass Qx80 can’t take ethanol and is supposed to only have 91 or 93. Well news flash there ain’t no fucking 93 probably within 200 miles and as of right now McCook (the hub for all of SW Neb) only has 1 place with 91 no ethanol. When we lived in bum fuck NW Kansas the closest towns that had 91 no ethanol were Colby or Wakeeney. (Both 45 mins away)

That’s why I love my Silverado out here taking anything like the beautiful American Slut she is. 87, e15… e85? Hell yeah put it in me baby. Let’s ride.

They f

They flat ran out of fuel while we were they. Premium only, and they brought out the pump bags for everything but diesel when we were departing. Sad.

We had this happen a few times but the absolute worst was when both gas stations in our county had their gas pumps break around the same time. (1,000 sq miles…2 gas stations)

Diesel pumps were fine but it took 3 weeks for 1 gas station to get fixed and another 2 weeks for the other station.

Closest option was a 15 mile drive to a Co-Op pump along the highway. (87 only and there was a line every single time no matter what time of day it was)

The best past about living there is now my wife appreciates so many things she never would have before and for sure doesn’t take anything for granted.

Ex: Walmart in town, multiple gas stations, a drive thru (no franchise except Dollar General and no place with a drive through window for 45 mins), places open on Sunday and places open after 9pm, places to get your vehicle worked on in town, a Bank in town, etc etc.
