MLPFC Shit Posting

Didn't think this was worthy of its own thread.

McCook "Crazy Days" this weekend, which is apparently a multi-day sale throughout town.

Wife made me go watch her buy shit we don't need BUT I did manage to get 2 things for myself.

I personally have always believed "Kill Lil Red, Herbie is my King" and this pic of the Big 8 mascots only confirms it.

Dear God K-states logo was disgusting before the power cat

To be fair, the power cat disgusts me sometimes.

best Nebraska moment in person in my life, idk if anything will ever come close due to it being the last game vs. KSU and for the past 11 years no matter what has happened to Nebraska just being able to pull out the ultimate "remember when we raped KSU in MHK and then Nebraska fans sang Happy Birthday to coach Snyder after the game?"

Pretty nasty weather the past couple days. On Saturday afternoon I was at my relatives house in Millard and I heard something I'd never experienced before. For about 10-15 minutes the thunder was constant like someone jumping on a corrugated roof or an entire orchestra section of tympani without any let up. No breaks just a constant rolling thunder. End of the world type stuff.

I then got sucked into going to the Holland Center for a throwback concert with Three Dog Night. Never cared for their music in the '70s but God bless them, it was the same 3 guys who must be pushing mid 70s. Their music catalog is meh but they put on a good show and can still sing, they still sound just like their records. It was worth the money just to see the crowd, nobody under 60, "rocking out" to some pretty vanilla music. Lots of grandmas with their vintage Three Dog Night tee shirts.

At one point the thunder sounded like a train. Was pretty freaky.

That was a magical evening for all of us who made the trip down to the litter box

UPDATE @LoudHogRider @Jim14510 @HCFord1

I found out 2 hours ago after talking to my Father in-law that the Bellevue hotel has been without power for the past 2 days and he didn't tell me cuz he didn't want me to worry. AND he and my mother in law have been working all 3 shifts and cleaning the rooms the past 2 days all by themselves because "why would I spend money paying someone when there are so few guests?" (*to be read with a thick Indian accent and bobble of the head on the word "someone") They are so cheap they would rather risk a heart attack or stroke working 48 hours straight than have to pay somebody.

Anyways, hope you boys got power now.

I never lost mine or didn't realize I lost it anyway. Still some street lights so figured there were still some areas without power. Feel like I should go down and help out now.

I love Russell Peters. His routine about his dad and the explanation of free stuff, free is free, with a Chinese guy thrown in is hysterically funny. You buy today one dollar. Tomorrow 2 dollars. Your wife say you a very bad husband if you buy tomorrow. Be a man. (said in a Chinese accent).

Does a head nod, shake, or "combo nod/shake" indicate yes at your in-laws place? I was never more baffled than the first time I had a meeting where the dude kept saying yes while shaking his head.

it means so many things man

It’s like people or cultures who talk with their hands a lot.

it can be an in dictation of affirmative, skeptical, sarcasm, joking, denial, etc etc

Now I think of it, probably 25% of the time it is a non verbal indicator to show you how earnest they are or a non verbal signal to you the speaker that they are following/listening and to continue.

Best comedian when it comes to jokes about India and Indians

Also sneaky might be best impressions of different nationalities because the famous impressionist comedians are white and obviously it’s “racist” if they did it.

I'm laughing at the "head bobble" reference. When I left trucking and moved to the IT Consulting Services industry, we brought a LOT of guys and gals from India over on H1-B visas to help supplant emerging technology skill set shortages we couldn't find locally. I never did figure out the head bobble thing.

<looks at head bobbling>
"Was that a yes or a no?"
<bobbling continues>
"Still waiting for an answer ... "

The Taylor run on 3rd and 10 on the opening drive of the 2nd half is my favorite as you listen to the announcers talk about what KSUcks did on1st down and our deep shot on 2nd down.

That and the repeated showing of the KSUcks fans is gold, Jerry, gold.

I was at that game, west side, 30-35 yard line roughly 30 rows up with a gut full of ribeyes and hooch at the expense of country futures, Frankfort KS. The frustration throughout the stands after Tmart, Helu, and Kyler Reeds long TDs were the most satisfying experience I've ever had at any husker game.

i busted my remote when Martinez fumbled early on. The first few games had me extremely spoiled
