Passing through Kearney on our way from Fernley, Nevada to Omaha. Stopped and ate at Whiskey Creek.

My pops passed away on 9 June. I got to Fernley on the 8th, at least I got to say goodbye to him face to face and tell him everything I wanted. My brother and his son drove up from Texas to Fernley (24 hours) to help me get his stuff and then we drove 20 hours to Omaha. He stayed a few days then left to go home this morning. Just thought I'd share this pic with you all.
Sorry about the loss of your pops. May he RIP.

My sympathies. May the LORD be with you all.

I’m on kiwi watermelon #5 and listening to Jimmy Buffet songs
I realize every man needs a little diversity, but I’m contemplating writing the “Bob Seeger Fan Club” and asking that you be removed as President of that illustrious organization.

You’ll probably blame it on the Kiwi Watermelon flavored beverages, but I feel like your foundational principles have shifted, which is disconcerting.

What can I say, I love me a good shandy beer. Sam Adams used to have a lemonade beer called Porch Rocker and it was money. If you really want the ultimate fruity drink have a Kir Royale. The French do get most things alcohol related right. Heavenly.

Recipe for Kir Royale:

Ingredients: 1/3 oz Crème de cassis, 3 oz Champagne (Cassis is a black currant liqueur)
Preparation: Add the crème de cassis to the bottom of the glass, then top up champagne.
Drinkware: Champagne flute

I fvcking love thunderstorms. I know they can and do cause damage to crops & property, but I love watching them roll in and rumble and spit lightning.
It’s probably one of the major things I miss. My new location has plenty of small thunderstorms though which is better than the 6.5 earthquake we had the other week.

Me too. We never have T-storms except once every 5 or so years when some moisture comes up from Baja because of a Mexican hurricane. Earthquakes are a part of life here but you never really get used to them, even the small ones. Alaska is still the undefeated champ as far as size goes though. That 10 on the Richter scale in Anchorage in the '60s will be tough to beat. I had a doc I used to work for that went through it. He had two giant pine trees in his front yard and the tops were bent over and touching the ground from the seismic waves.
