MLPFC Shit Posting

I had a fraternity brother in college that could do a PERFECT Arnold Peterson imitation. Arnold was an Omaha broadcaster who delivered the noon market report on the radio (KFAB?). When Jay slipped in the updates from the Sioux City and St. Joseph markets, it brought the house down.
Beebeetown, located 25 miles northeast of downtown Omaha, was easily in Arnold’s (WOW) broadcast range. A daily fixture in our home. No one dare utter a word while Arnold was reporting.....😂

I was guessing when I posted WOW. Certainly could have been KFAB.

Not related to the quoted post, but I think some time in the recent past I said that I hate McCook because they beat us at everything. I have to roll that back slighly.

McCook was the host site for district livestock judging where I won one of my most prized possessions: a trophy with a golden cow on top for "First Place, Beef." I say possession, but I loaned it to a buddy in college for some reason, and that asshole never gave it back.

Before I moved here I had no idea that schools like Goth/Cozad/Valentine/Broken Bow/etc still played McCook in any sport.

McCook has like 120-130 kids per grade. I graduated from a C1 school and we only had 21 guys in my grade. (Way more girls tho) I can’t imagine playing a school so much bigger and expecting anything but hammer & nail.

Ebronies, need some advice...Making a driving choice for the vacation...not flying...

Option A, Stay on the I70 to St. Louis, drop down to Memphis area, is a little faster, but 75 miles longer.

Option B, Take a straight shot to Memphis area, cut through the boonies of Methzou and the Land of inbred cousinfuckers.

Sidenote, will have Tits and the 4 kids, 4 under 7 strapped in the burban. I'm leaning towards option A because I hate slow stupid drivers and I'd imagine traveling through bumblescum I'll encounter many of them.

Remember, the bridge on 40 crossing the Mississippi at Memphis is closed, friends that frequent the route hauling cattle say it's a cluster fuck at the moment on 5

Try not to hit St Louis between 3pm and 6 pm.

Option B is scenic, but feels like it takes forever and a day.

I'd personally hit KC, take i 49 down to 40, Little rock and cut down to pine bluffs and through the woods

First, it's a plastic cow on top of a generic trophy that I always joked I would turn into a hood ornament.

Second, I don't really know much about cows, heifers, steers, or bulls...I just knew how to write and present the justification really well. I think I got fourth in the sheep category, and I'd never even seen a sheep prior to that day of my freshman year of highschool. The fact that I won that trophy was joked about often.

Third, @SoCal_Corn makes internet trophies for folks all the time, so maybe he can just make me a virtual one.

Fourth, I think the guy I lent it to is good for it. I left my golf clubs in his garage in 2002 and never saw them again. Until, they suddenly showed up on my mom's front porch in 2018. His mom lives on the same block as my mom.

I followed up.

Evidently yore friend gave it to his mom and she used it in her finished basement.
He installed it for her it on her beer tap at the bar.

He said yore mom comes over for beer and pinochle on Tuesdays (and sometimes Thursdays) after Jeopardy.

PS he says he feels bad. Almost as bad as he does for getting to play golf for 16 years without ever having to buy expensive clubs, but I digress....

Regardless, I did create you the new Internet Chat Board Virtual Version: Congrats! 👏💥🎈🎉🪅

Apparently, mapquest is a big hunk of shit of a website for driving directions suggestions for the fastest routes compared to the map on my iPhone.

if I could give just one more recommendation, it would be don't use Pine bluffs Arkansas for a gas or piss stop. Place is rough

A fresh tube of Flitz arrived via Amazon today. Gonna put a little shine on the Marlin level gun today. Had it down to itty bitty pieces the last two days polishing and smoothing the moving parts. It cycles like its running in warm butter. I may be 402, but I can handle business like a 308'er! 😎

Hell yeah!
I have the same rifle - it's my camp gun.

This is now my most prized digital possession. Thank you.

Actually we just flipped to this option.
Just don't forget to pick up beer in Missouri before you hit Arkansas. Also, my wife spent her senior year in high school as an exchange student in Pine Bluff, AR. Town has changed a lot so roll up your windows and lock your doors and probably stop for gas prior to your hopefully brief excursion through Pine Bluff. It's on a lot of top ten lists and not for good stuff. They did teach her to love grits and Dr. Pepper so there's that.

EDIT: I see that @Woodrow F Call is already on the case and I concur with his assessment of Pine Bluff.

Must be something in the water down that way. I had a former boss and good friend originally from Searcy, AR (Michael A. Young). One of my favorite memories of him is of him trying to explain "Arkansas justice", which meant that it was a perfectly justifiable and apparently common defense strategy in some parts of that state to simply claim, "He needed killin', your Honor".

The other fun thing to do with Michael back then (mid-to-late 80's) was to simply accompany him to a Wal-Mart store. Two of us strolling up and down in aisles in suits, with Michael pointing at random stuff and barking out nonsense in a loud Arkie accent never failed to attract a store manager running down the aisle, tightening his tie, to greet the visitors from "Corporate". Michael would make some offhand comment (i.e. "Your store looks great" or the dreaded "Your store looks like shit", immediately followed by, "What was your name, son?" Once the poor slob gave Michael his name, he'd simply respond "Noted" and whirl and walk out the front door of the store, leaving the guy sputtering and dumbfounded wondering if his career was either going to take off or had just been crushed.

RIP, Michael. #CancerSucks

@LoudHogRider you got any good sporting clay courses, or even a trap /skeet range up that way?
Sporting clay courses - the best one in the "area" is near Brainerd: http://oak-creek-club.com/
Trap/skeet ranges - plenty of them around, including the city run range off of 68th & Harrison (Harry A. Koch located inside Seymour Smith Park). I've shot there several times.

The better courses/ranges are private. Papillion Gun Club and Eastern Nebraska Gun Club. I don't have a membership to either, and my buddy who belonged to ENGC just moved to Floriduh. 🙁

Wish I had more for you, amigo.
