All good and thanks for asking. No smoke, fire or wind since the beginning of the fires. Orange County has pretty much escaped all of this.
I've lived here since 1978 and this is worse than the Sylmar and Whittier Narrows earthquakes in terms of damage and cost. A lot of stuff coming out about the mismanagement and priorities which led to this but bad things were inevitable with 100 mph winds.
Suffice to say that it didn't have to be this bad. $17 million was taken from the fire department budget and given to the homeless program which already had a budget of $24 billion and much of the homeless money can't be accounted for. That's just the tip of the iceberg. People are justifiably angry and hopefully it will lead to some changes, but it's too late for this go around.
