quiet is good. whats on the big list?
Great question, as there's usually some "give-n-take" between the Mrs. and I regarding destinations. Near term (early March???) we're going to fly (ugghh) to PHX to visit the daughter in Scottsdale and head down to Florida to visit friends in two different cities (The Villages and Vero Beach). Not sure if we're flying or driving yet on the last one, but if we drive I've got good friends in Biloxi and Hotlanta that I'd like to spend some time with along the way.

Then comes the summer destination camping list. Last year, we did one big trip east to TN and one big trip west (WY, ID, & UT). I've got a hankering for some more mountain camping this year, so I'd to get back out to Westcliffe, CO and see some friends out thatta way before we forget what each other looks like (Pickleball & hiking peeps from an extended month-long 2023 trip).

At SOME point in time I'd like to take a leaf peeping trip in the fall to New England. Not sure if that's a this year or future year thing, but I haven't been that direction since I retired 13 years ago. Long fucking drive to look at leaves, but I'm a history geek so I can always find someplace interesting to visit AND there's a few states up there that the Mrs. and I have yet to "put a pin in" regarding my quest to boink in all 50 states. Some guys visit baseball or football stadiums, I enjoy - to steal a phrase from @slattimer - plowing the Mrs.' bramble patch in every state as part of my personal journey of discovery.

hi ponies. how are all you sob’s?

My brother in law got in a drunk fight with his cousin and said he was gonna ICE on his Dad. (My wife's uncle, who is the only illegal in the entire family and the black sheep)

Anyhoo it caused lots of drama amongst all the in laws....but I can't stop laughing about it all.

One of my favorite things. Good ole fashioned bramble patch plowing session.

Doing great. We finally got some measurable rain for the first time since last April. A whole 1/2 inch woo hoo. It is a desert in a Med climate so it's normal to have wet and dry years. But, the water Nazis in Sacramento left normal about 20 years ago and they panic over everything.

We're currently breaking in 2 rescue kitties. We had our previous cat, who died of liver cancer, trained to go poop out in the yard. They're both really smart so hopefully they'll use the yard too. Until then the dreaded litter box is back.
