I know most of the big wigs involved in the KS v NE lawsuit over the compact


the stories about it always make me so proud of my State.

Ex: KS first settlement number they floated they were worried was too high and were willing to come down 40%. Nebraska took 20 mins and came back to ask if they wanted it wired or a check. All of the Kansas people were blown away how nice it must be to have a State in the black and with funds.

my 2nd favorite story was during depositions when Nebraska farmers refused under oath to say what they got/paid to farm ground. Including a few “fuck you”s to the KS Attorney General’s Office.

And I heard that 2nd part from the Attorney trying to take those depos, his name is Burke Griggs.

FWIW, my mom was a “Petersen”. Danish variety from Viborg, SD, a town made famous by virtue of having an interstate exit sign off of I-29. Viborg is no where near the interstate mind you, but that’s where you would exit if you were inclined to see it.
